Book The Light the Truth and the Way

Download or read book The Light the Truth and the Way written by Sandy Acharjee and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-02-16 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book The author was born and raised in an orthodox Hindu family. Like most of us, he was busy with his family, career and day-to-day activities. Then suddenly, out of the blue, in the ICU room of a modern hospital, he had a Code Blue experience when he unexpectedly departed this world for a period of three days. This book and his earlier book, Code Blue 99, are written per Gods instructions, whom he met during the traumatic period of his life. This is a miraculous true story, and the author is a living testimony of what truly transpires after our physical death here on earth. There should be no doubt for anyone that both the Heaven and the Hell exist in our after-life. The author has witnessed both of them. Based on his afterlife experience he has found that it is very easy to enter into the Hell. But, it is extremely difficult to enter into the Heaven as he witnessed the one and the only narrow entrance door. This book solidifies the Truth by unfolding the blindfolds of our life, tells who we really are, the real purpose of our life here on earth, and what is expected of us in order to enter into the Heavenly Kingdom. It is all based on the authors firsthand experience and personal encounter with the Divine Light. It also details the two opposite worlds that exist both here on earth and beyond this life. Finally, it reiterates his face-to-face conversation with the Lord, who sent him back to the earth to share His Instructions for everyone, whether they be believers or non-believers. This book is a Must Read for everyone.. It uncovers The Light, The Truth and The Waythe only Way!

Book A Gathering of Spiritual Riches

Download or read book A Gathering of Spiritual Riches written by St. Tikhon of Zadonsk and published by Holy Trinity Publications. This book was released on 2023-03-15 with total page 684 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a merchant gathers various goods from different countries and carries them home and stores them up, so the Christian may gather edifying thoughts and lay them up in the storeroom of his heart, and enrich his soul with them. Drawing upon numerous examples from daily life and human relationships, St Tikhon weaves together wisdom on how to live a life pleasing to God. His words are frequently embellished by scripture and together these call the reader to repentance and a fuller embrace of godly living. In a world that typically only values material goods his writing constantly reminds the reader of that which is of true value — the knowledge and love of God. The reader also finds encouragement in the struggle to overcome sin and to acquire virtue which is the fundamental battle of the Christian as the war is waged against the passions. It is a fight worth the effort. St Tikhon's message is clear: True riches are not of this world, but of the age to come. These riches both can and should be acquired now. As the reader progresses deeper into this work his soul will find refreshment, purpose and meaning for his life.

Book The Gospel of John as Literature

Download or read book The Gospel of John as Literature written by Stibbe and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2019-07-01 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains thirteen essays written between 1900 and today. Each of them takes as its starting point the Gospel of John as a literary unity. The volume as a whole traces literary studies of John back to the early 1900's and charts their development from then. Some of these essays are little known even to Johannine scholars. Others are recognized as classics in the field. Two of them are translations. This book is therefore a timely and indispensable resource for those interested in the history of the fourth gospel interpretation, and in examples of literary methods applied to John.

Book The Complete Story of the Grail

Download or read book The Complete Story of the Grail written by Chrétien (de Troyes) and published by Boydell & Brewer Ltd. This book was released on 2015 with total page 637 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mysterious and haunting Grail makes its first appearance in literature in Chrétien de Troyes' Perceval at the end of the twelfth century. But Chrétien never finished his poem, leaving an unresolved story and an incomplete picture of the Grail. It was, however, far too attractive an idea to leave. Not only did it inspire quite separate works; his own unfinished poem was continued and finally completed by no fewer than four other writers. The Complete Story of the Grail is the first ever translation of the whole of the rich and compelling body of tales contained in Chrétien's poem and its four Continuations, which are finally attracting the scholarly attention they deserve. Besides Chrétien's original text, there are the anonymous First Continuation (translated here in its fullest version), the Second Continuation attributed to Wauchier de Denain, and the intriguing Third and Fourth Continuations - probably written simultaneously, with no knowledge of each other's work - by Manessier and Gerbert de Montreuil. Two other poets were drawn to create preludes explaining the background to Chrétien's story, and translated here also are their works: The Elucidation Prologue and Bliocadran. Only in this, The Story of the Grail's complete form, can the reader appreciate the narrative skill and invention of the medieval poets and their surprising responses to Chrétien's theme - not least their crucial focus on the knight as a crusader. Equally, Chrétien's original poem was almost always copied in conjunction withone or more of the Continuations, so this translation represents how most medieval readers would have encountered it. Nigel Bryant's previous translations from Medieval French include Perlesvaus - the High Bookof the Grail, Robert de Boron's trilogy Merlin and the Grail, the Medieval Romance of Alexander, The True Chronicles of Jean le Bel and Perceforest.
