Book excerpt: There is no sound archaeological evidence for the biblical story of the exodus from Egypt, but this work of fiction revisits the Bible story using clues from Egyptology and molecular genealogy of three mysterious mummies discovered nearby the Saqqara step pyramid. A group of English and Egyptian archaeologists and geneticists working together discover that one of the mummies carried a gene that confirms he was from the tribe of the Cohanim, and one of the mummies must be that of Nefertiti, the wife of the monotheist pharaoh, Akhenaten. From this they deduce the identity of Moses from the Bible and then follow clues for the route taken by the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land. Along the way they are able to discover rational explanations for the ten plagues and the parting of the Red Sea. These observations are not welcomed by the extreme orthodox community of Jews intent on rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem and ultimately end up in a battle on the Temple Mount. For this the army of the modern Israelites find common purpose with the Palestinian militias to protect the ground that is holy to both Muslims and Jews.

Sneferu's reign saw the creation of six statues of the King for various shrines and the construction of a line of small pyramids along the lower valley of the Nile. One of the provincial monuments had a royal statue and a table of offerings nearby, while another stood next to a scribal office in charge of state contracts. Those modest arrangements suggest that, during the era of the colossal pyramids, such provincial cults had served as points for the supply of provisions and materials to the pyramid makers and the living court at Memphis, as some rare surviving reliefs from the same period indicate that provinces maintained similar royal cults within the temples at Memphis. Abusir and Saqqara's local temples and shrines were of a different order. Shrines and temples were dedicated to the royal cult, and some state gods continuously observed the royal cult throughout the kingdom. The King issued a decree for the inspector of priests of the God Min in Coptos, a modern town in Upper Egypt, and for all the dependents and possessions of Min's estate, his functionaries, and his entourage.

Much of its esoteric symbolism will be shown and analyzed from history of the long train of tradition that led up to the dollars present design. Although some of these ideas easily lead to wide ranging philosophical speculation, (and I reserve the right to drag out the soapbox occasionally). I will, none the less, try to maintain a neutral or scientific approach to these topics. Most of this story has been written in the first-person, like a letter to the reader--like a notebook. In order that the reasoning that led me to these discoveries might be more easily understood, I have tried to show my slow progress and mistakes more or less as they happened, and the gradual development of my thinking as I went along. But to all of this I will add some hindsight, and a certain amount of convenient arrangement of the order of some of the discoveries for clarity. Without this, most of my starting points of investigation and conclusions will not be understandable, and many of my earlier dubious paths can be left unsaid. Since this curious and strange design is not yet completely known or fully analyzed, this investigation is by no means finished and should be an invitation for more adventurous readers to make their own discoveries. This study is a much larger task than it would appear at first glance. This writing will provide many of the mathematical keys and clues to enable readers to start to investigate on their own, or to demonstrate to themselves the validity of those things shown here. But these are hidden symbols--both philosophical and mathematical--and as such, need to be puzzled out.
