There were places marked with symbols that made it look like mysterious guardians were watching over the passage, as well as narrow paths that wound through dark caves and huge gaps that had to be passed. She might have been scared or nervous, but the thought of finding something new and learning more about the river's past made those feelings less important. Daisy was ready to go on a trip and was determined to follow the map and find out what it meant. She knew that she would need all of her bravery and creativity for the journey ahead. The map became her most valuable thing because it held so many mysterious secrets and old, misspelled words. There was a puzzle that begged to be solved and a mystery that called her in. Daisy looked at the map every night, when bioluminescent plants gave it a soft glow, trying to figure out what the symbols meant and plan her route.
