The courageous crew has been sent on a mission within the borders of their sworn enemy the evil Vion. Despite their best efforts to avoid it, an unknown force pulls the ship down to the planet's surface. Peacemaker crash lands just outside an abandoned city surrounded by a great and mysterious wall.Immediately after the crash, Jacob Prime rescues a twelve-year-old girl from a fire onboard the ship with the help of his friend Vidge. The crew finds themselves running from a herd of animals called the 'maim'. They escape into the city where the surviving crewmembers find refuge for the next fifteen years.Over a decade of battling hunger and each other, pass slowly in this dystopian society. That is until Jacob and Vidge reunite with tactical officer Jonus Nyx. Wherever Nyx goes, trouble is sure to follow. Shortly after an uprising breaks out within the colony. Jacob, Vidge, attempt to flee the wall and find peace to live out their days in the distant mountain range. On the way, Jacob finds winged pilgrim Kiri Ryder, the girl he helped rescue so many years ago from the Peacemaker crash.Together, they discover a secret 'vessel' exists hidden in a temple in the mountains where the Runner's are already trying to escape. Kiri believes that it is a means to ascend to a higher existence, while Jacob is hoping that he found a way off the inhospitable planet he calls 'Hell'. All the while, they find themselves pursued by a band of 'Warhawks' bent on deadly revenge. Their leader is out to kill Jacob, who he blames for Peacemaker's ill fated voyage.

Book Not Your Average Runner

Download or read book Not Your Average Runner written by Jill Angie and published by Morgan James Publishing. This book was released on 2017-12-29 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Run for fun—no matter your size, shape, or speed! Do you think running sucks? Do you think you’re too fat to run? With humor, compassion, and lots of love, Jill Angie explains how you can overcome the challenges of running with an overweight body, experience the exhilaration of hitting new milestones, and give your self-esteem an enormous boost in the process. This isn’t a guide to running for weight loss, or a simple running plan. It shows how a woman carrying a few (or many) extra pounds can successfully become a runner in the body she has right now. Jill Angie is a certified running coach and personal trainer who wants to live in a world where everyone is free to feel fit and fabulous at any size. She started the Not Your Average Runner movement in 2013 to show that runners come in all shapes, sizes, and speeds, and, since then, has assembled a global community of revolutionaries who are taking the running world by storm. If you would like to be part of the revolution, this is the book for you!

Book Running Free

Download or read book Running Free written by Richard Askwith and published by Random House. This book was released on 2015-03-05 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A passionate and inspiring case for runners to get back to nature Richard Askwith wanted more. Not convinced running had to be all about pounding pavements, buying fancy gear, and racking up extreme challenges, he looked for ways to liberate himself. His solution: running through muddy fields and up rocky fells, running with his dog at dawn, running because he's being (voluntarily) chased by a pack of bloodhounds, running to get hopelessly, enjoyably lost, running fast for the sheer thrill of it. Running as nature intended. Part diary of a year running through the Northamptonshire countryside, part exploration of why we love to run without limits, Running Free is an eloquent and inspiring account of running in a forgotten, rural way, observing wildlife and celebrating the joys of nature. An opponent of the commercialisation of running, Askwith offers a welcome alternative, with practical tips (learned the hard way) on how to both start and keep running naturally--from thawing frozen toes to avoiding a stampede when crossing a field of cows. Running Free is about getting back to the basics of why we love to run.
