He holds that ethics is only concerned with moral good. Budemonology is the science which deals with happiness. Thus, the great problem the moral philosopher is called upon to solve is the problem of the nature of moral good. It is indeed a problem of the highest practical importance, since human happiness depends upon its right solution. The nature of moral good, however, may be traced only by the analysis of its fundamental factors. Now, from all Rosmini's ethical works it may be concluded that he thinks the moral good to be the outcome of two main factors, one of which we may call "metaphysical" and the other "psychological. ' According to him, all ethical judging, the will and its whole activity, must conform to a supreme and fundamental law of action, which is categorically imperative, universally true and valid as well as universally uniform. This is, for him as for Kant, the most significant feature of morality. Such a law, however, which he supposes to be prior to all particular laws, grounding their existence and obligatory force, is objective, absolute, and independent of all empirical motives. This primal and fundamental law is the metaphysical and chief factor of morality; it constitutes its essence. His contribution turns on the theory of the suspended middle of the original relationship between the natural and the supernatural, which he experienced and elaborated. The device of the relationship between the original metaphysical-affective-symbolic structure of the believing conscience and the affective turn in metaphysics, intrinsically linked to his trinitarian ontology, allowed Rosmini to elaborate theories and epistemologies from a unitary perspective in various fields of knowledge. This volume indicates the implications of the unbreakable bond between Rosmini's philosophy and theology in disciplines such as pedagogical science, political science, and juridical science. Following the favorable resolution of the "Rosminian question" the Catholic Church beatified Rosmini in 2007 and in 2018 indicated his theoretical-practical approach as a universal education model to be followed.
