The book also narrates the story of Hanson's developent of numerous noted robots, including the Philip K. He describes here the use of these robots serve a wide range of research in cognitive science, autism treatment, and robotics at institutions including JPL, Cambridge University, KAIST, UCSD, and the University of Geneva, U.
