Book Zohar The Book of Radiance Revealed

Download or read book Zohar The Book of Radiance Revealed written by Dr. Robert H. Schram and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-02-06 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are numerous books written about Jewish mysticism, kabbalah, and the Zohar (Book of Radiance). The Zohar is written in code through the use of symbolism, euphemisms, figures of speech, ancient phraseology, and the Hebrew Bible or Tenakh. Tenakh is an acronym formed from the initial Hebrew letters of Masoretic Text’s three traditional subdivisions (Torah - the Five Books of Moses, Nevi’im - Prophets, and Ketuvim - writings). Thanks to the incredible scholarship of Professor Daniel Matt from Berkeley California the codes of the Zohar have become more comprehensible to the inquisitive reader. It was because of Professor Matt’s translation, explanations, and notes on the Zohar in his first seven volumes that I was moved to write this book. ”The Zohar is firmly rooted in tradition but thrives on discovery.”

Book Tikkunei Zohar Revealed

  • Author : Mark Siet
  • Publisher : CreateSpace

  • ISBN : 9781506134826
  • Pages : 654 pages

Download or read book Tikkunei Zohar Revealed written by Mark Siet and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-03-20 with total page 654 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Torah study is about making connections. We relate various passages and words together and find a higher meaning that was not there a moment ago. This process is a time honored one and is acted upon by simply taking up the Tanach and reviewing a certain passage or reading what Rashi has to say. There are a number of methods to go about this. My study of Tikkunei Zohar is similar to all of these methods in that what I am seeking is that higher voice that rings through and unifies above and below. Inside these pages we are called upon to step outside of ourselves in order to discover the deepest inner meetings. Now it would've been possible to to present excerpts of the text and then describe what was going on, however, there's more here than a simple retelling of this presentation. Allegory is the most common device used to present the Torah inquiries we find here. The goal that I had in mind was to bring about a practical interpretation allowing the reader to make immediate use of the material in the transformation of their consciousness and with immediate results for your life experience. In almost every case higher mind is being accessed and being asked to stretch itself again and again. Therefore TKZ Revealed presents the entire text in the consciousness of "the way things work." Imagine that you are immersed in Torah study struggling with a verse for a concept the meaning of the word and in a flash of inspiration you feel yourself lifted beyond the moment and realize that someone is standing with you helping you to achieve your purpose. In order to make this happen there's a very special place that you need to enter into. This very special place is what is called the cave. It is this very same cave that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai entered into at the beginning of this text. While he was in the cave Elijah came to offer insights, discovery, revelations into meanings of the word Bereishis. There are 70 meanings that are discussed. Now we realize that whenever we are speaking of one thing it needs by relationship to another thing. This is the basis for all of the expositions that are presented in TKZ and by extension in every bit of my commentary. It is in this commentary inside of the cage inside of the cave that you will find Elijah standing by you. The cave is your untapped awareness, and it is inside of the cave that we find in the opening for Rabbi Shimon and his son Eleazar. They flee to the wilderness of Lod. Lod is spelled Lamed 30 Vav 6 Dalet 4 which adds up to forty. It is this same wilderness of 40 that symbolizes the Israelites sojourn following their deliverance from Egypt. It is inside of this wilderness that all of our insights about Torah are revealed. Call this an in-depth study of the meanings we may find via the connections of Torah. It would have been enough to discover the meanings and be enlightened by them. However, a further step has been taken. These Torah insights have been combined with their practical applications to every day life. This makes Tikkunei Zohar Revealed A unique tool for accessing both the secrets of Torah and deeper inner meanings of our own consciousness. Along the way we learn about the mystical teachings of Kabbalah. If there is one thread that runs through the entire narrative it is Shekinah. In simple terms Shekinah is the connecting link between above and below existing in simultaneous timeless being both above and below.

Book excerpt: The Zohar is the great medieval compendium of Jewish esoteric and mystical teaching, and the basis of the Kabbalistic faith. It is, however, a notoriously difficult text, full of hidden codes, concealed meanings, obscure symbols, and ecstatic expression. This illuminating study, based upon the last several decades of modern Zohar scholarship, unravels the historical and intellectual origins of this rich text, and provides an excellent introduction to its themes, complex symbolism, narrative structure, and language. A Guide to the Zohar is thus an invaluable companion to the Zohar itself, as well as a useful resource for scholars and students interested in mystical literature, particularly that of the West, from the middles ages to the present.

  • Pages : 766 pages

Download or read book Zohar Chadash Revealed written by Mark Siet and published by . This book was released on 2020-09-09 with total page 766 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Continuing from Zohar Chadash the Kabbalah of Consciousness this picks up about midway through. Here we follow pathways of Thought as it flows through the Torah. We are taught that Thought is the Prime Mover. So many of the Torah allegories are about our thinking as to how it affects everything else in our lives.Side by side Hebrew with English Translation. Includes commentaries for each section which show the deeper meanings of Torah as it relates to Consciousness. It is filled with revelations that are proven through Torah verses and the insights offered by Rabbi Shimon, his son Eleazar, Rabbi Hanina, and Rabbi Kruspedai to name a few.The commentaries provide an unprecedented level of clarity all based on the realization that Thought is what makes this world go around. We connect to the Holy One Blessed be He through Thought and it is by Thought that we are able to gain practical advice in terms of our life situations. A large section is devoted to Song of Songs explaining its particular relationship to the developing Consciousness. Everything is explained in the commentaries in as concise a style as possible. The essence of this book as in other parts of the Zohar is to emphasize the unity that we all share together. If you are intrigued by the Mysteries of Torah you will find satisfaction in these pages. They truly go where no one has gone before. Everything in the Kabbalah Revealed Series has as it mission to bring the light down from above. What is this Light? It is the light of Wisdom where we may explain the obscure passages in modern psychological terms and generate new insights that will help us in all of our Torah studies. In a very real sense you get a flavor of the code of Torah which is Consciousness itself. Just as in the first book on Zohar Chadash this book pinpoints the symbolism and narrows it down to Thought. While the Zohar itself repeats the importance of Thought in our studies, this book takes that insight to higher levels of learning. At some point in the book we learn the true nature of Elijah and the wells of Miriam. We also learn the deeper message of forgiveness studying Joseph and his adventures. This book is meant with Intention to expand Consciousness. In that expansion it lives up to what Zohar Chadash (new things about the Zohar) has as it purpose. Once you begin the worlds of Torah come alive in a whole other way that answers questions about the Mysteries while at the same shows you more sublime Mysteries. The learning here just goes on and on.A good portion of the book is devoted to Ruth. There are so many revelations here in this section. Also it ties together with the other sections to provide an anchor point for study. Thought is that anchor point. It is one thing to try and ponder the obscure writings here and learn what the sages are saying about these Mysteries. It is another thing altogether to have the starting point of Thought to take you through these holy passages. The commentaries come at the end of each section and sometimes in the middle to elucidate some finer points. They are meant to integrate your Torah studies into your everyday lives providing practical connections that you can use right away. Zohar Chadash Revealed Volume Two enters a whole other landscape of Torah study. The answers you receive here will be your own. Here we are taught deeper meanings of Torah and by extension about the Way Things Work. It is both a manual for the instruction of Thought as well as a proving ground for our ideas about Creation and the Creator. It is uncanny how Zohar keep coming back to Thought as to what is behind all of Creation. In this book you will find that time provides a mirror for all of all reflections. What is required of us is to ask the questions and then stay around to learn the answers.Hashem is the great Mystery but here we find out that within us is all we need to awaken that divine connection.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Zohar (Book of Radiance), also known as, The Zohar, is one of the most mysterious and misunderstood compositions ever written. The awe, admiration, and even fear it has evoked over the years are unsurpassed. This book contains the secrets of the whole of Creation, but until recently these secrets were shrouded in a cloud of mystery and misconceptions. Now The Zohar is openly unfolding its wisdom throughout the world, to show humanity a way forward, as the book itself declares (VaYera, Item 460), "When the days of the Messiah draw near, even infants will discover the secrets of the wisdom." The greatest Kabbalist of the 20th century, Rav Yehuda Ashlag (1884-1954) paved a new way for us by which we can reveal the secrets of The Zohar. He wrote the Sulam [Ladder] Commentary and the four introductions for The Zohar to help us come to know the forces that govern our lives, and teach us how we can assume control over our destinies. Unlocking The Zohar is an invitation to a wondrous journey to a higher world. The author, Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman, wisely ushers us into the revelations of the Sulam commentary. In so doing, Laitman helps us fine-tune our thoughts as we read in The Zohar, to maximize the spiritual benefit derived from reading it. In addition to explaining The Book of Zohar, the book contains numerous inspiring quotes from The Zohar, specifically translated, edited, and compiled for easy reading and understanding of this powerful text.

Download or read book Divine Scapegoats written by Andrei A. Orlov and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 2015-02-10 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explores the paradoxical symmetry between the divine and demonic in early Jewish mystical texts. Divine Scapegoats is a wide-ranging exploration of the parallels between the heavenly and the demonic in early Jewish apocalyptical accounts. In these materials, antagonists often mirror features of angelic figures, and even those of the Deity himself, an inverse correspondence that implies a belief that the demonic realm is maintained by imitating divine reality. Andrei A. Orlov examines the sacerdotal, messianic, and creational aspects of this mimetic imagery, focusing primarily on two texts from the Slavonic pseudepigrapha: 2 Enoch and the Apocalypse of Abraham. These two works are part of a very special cluster of Jewish apocalyptic texts that exhibit features not only of the apocalyptic worldview but also of the symbolic universe of early Jewish mysticism. The Yom Kippur ritual in the Apocalypse of Abraham, the divine light and darkness of 2 Enoch, and the similarity of mimetic motifs to later developments in the Zohar are of particular importance in Orlov’s consideration.

Book Sanctuary of the Divine Presence

Download or read book Sanctuary of the Divine Presence written by J. Zohara Meyerhoff Hieronimus and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2012-03-26 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kabbalistic initiatory teachings for becoming a vessel for illumination, prophecy, and peace by creating an inner dwelling place for God’s divine presence • Reveals practices for self mastery and revelation based on the holy design of the first Hebrew Sanctuary, the lives of the Hebrew Prophets, and the Tree of Life • Shows how the Tree of Life’s ten sefirot correspond to the Torah’s prophetic Ten Songs of Creation; to alchemical ritual practices of fire, water, air, and earth; and to specific parts of the body, emotions, and aspects of the soul Many synagogues and churches, including the First and Second Temples of the Hebrews, follow an archetypal design first used in the Ohel Moed, or Tent of Meeting, and its sacred Tabernacle, which housed the Ark of the Covenant and the Ten Commandments. Drawing from a wealth of sources including the Hebrew Bible, the oral Mishnaic tradition of Judaism, and 16th-century Judaic texts, Zohara Hieronimus explains how, like the Ohel Moed, we are designed to receive and reflect the divine qualities of the Creator. Exploring the kabbalistic initiatory teachings within the Chassidic tradition of Judaism and the lives and writings of the Hebrew prophets, she reveals how our physical and spiritual worlds are not separate but interdependent, one affecting the other, often in unexpected and sometimes miraculous ways. Examining the ten-part system of Kabbalah’s Tree of Life as reflected in the holy design of the Hebrews’ first Sanctuary, Hieronimus shows how the Tree of Life’s ten sefirot correspond to the Torah’s prophetic Ten Songs of Creation; to alchemical ritual practices of fire, water, air, and earth; and to specific parts of the body, emotions, and aspects of the soul. Starting from Malchut (Kingdom) at the bottom of the Tree of Life and ascending to Keter (Crown) at the top, the author discusses related biblical and scholarly texts and traditional Hebrew practices and teachings that can lead to spiritual enlightenment, illumination, and peace, allowing each of us to become a sanctuary for God’s presence through self-refinement, ritual devotion, and prayer, as practiced since biblical times.

Book The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon

Download or read book The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon written by Richard Zimler and published by Abrams. This book was released on 2000-03-15 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: International Bestseller: “A moody, tightly constructed historical thriller . . . a good mystery story and an effective evocation of a faraway time and place.” —The New York Times After Jews living in sixteenth-century Portugal are dragged to the baptismal font and forced to convert to Christianity, many of these New Christians persevere in their Jewish prayers and rituals in secret and at great risk; the hidden, arcane practices of the kabbalists, a mystical sect of Jews, continue as well. One such secret Jew is Berekiah Zarco, an intelligent young manuscript illuminator. Inflamed by love and revenge, he searches, in the crucible of the raging pogrom, for the killer of his beloved uncle Abraham, a renowned kabbalist, discovered murdered in a hidden synagogue along with a young girl in dishabille. Risking his life in streets seething with mayhem, Berekiah tracks down answers among Christians, New Christians, Jews, and the fellow kabbalists of his uncle, whose secret language and codes by turns light and obscure the way to the truth he seeks. A marvelous story, a challenging mystery, and a telling tale of the evils of intolerance, The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon both compels and entertains. “The story moves quickly . . . a literary and historical treat.” —Library Journal ''Remarkable . . . The fever pitch of intensity Zimler maintains is at times overwhelming but never less than appropriate to the Hieronymous Bosch-like landscape he describes. Simultaneously, though, he is able to capture, within the bedlam, quiet moments of tenderness and love.” —Booklist (starred review)
