Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reissuing five works originally published between 1937 and 1991, this collection contains books addressing the subject of time, from a mostly philosophic point of view but also of interest to those in the science and mathematics worlds. These texts are brought back into print in this small set of works addressing how we think about time, the history of the philosophy of time, the measurement of time, theories of relativity and discussions of the wider thinking about time and space, among other aspects. One volume is a thorough bibliography collating references on the subject of time across many disciplines.

Download or read book Tin in Organic Synthesis written by Michel Pereyre and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tin in Organic Synthesis is a systematic presentation of the organic chemistry of tin. This book discusses the significant advances that have been made with regard to the applications of organotin compounds as reagents or intermediates in organic synthesis and points out directions for future developments. This monograph is comprised of 17 chapters divided into four sections. Following a brief introduction to organotin chemistry, the production of the organotin reagents, which are most usually employed in organic synthesis, is described. Special emphasis is placed on the creation of a fresh tin-carbon bond, a preliminary step in numerous fruitful applications. The following chapters are devoted to synthetic applications involving tin-hydrogen, tin-carbon, and tin-heteroatom bonds. The reduction of organic halides, carbonyl compounds, thio, nitrogen compounds, unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds, and seleno and telluro compounds is considered. The discussion then turns to electrophilic cleavages of tin-carbon bonds, which are of possible interest in organic synthesis, along with transmetallation and metallation of organotin compounds. The creation of new carbon-carbon bonds through substitution, addition, or elimination reactions is also examined. The remaining chapters focus on organotin alkoxides, organotin enolates, organotin oxides and peroxides, and organotin esters. This book will be of interest to students and researchers in the field of organic chemistry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This annual review, the 50th volume in the series, provides critical analysis for anyone wanting to keep up to date with the literature on photochemistry and its applications. This essential volume combines reviews on the latest advances in photochemical research with specific topical highlights in the field. The volume starts with periodical reports of the recent literature on organic and computational aspects, including computational advances in photochemistry, chemiluminescence and dark photochemistry, organic aspects of photochemistry of alkenes, dienes and polyenes, aromatic compounds, oxygen-containing functions and those functions containing other heteroatoms, and finally a chapter on transition metal catalysis. Coverage continues in the second part with highlighted topics including photochemical tools for sensing and controlling biological processes, visible light driven enantioselective processes, photochemical formation of C–Chalcogen bonds, photoelectrocatalysis, photovoltaic techniques, photochemical activation of aryl chlorides, luminescent water-soluble systems and computational analyses of fluorescence absorption spectra. This volume will again include a third section entitled ‘SPR Lectures on Photochemistry’, providing examples for academic readers to introduce a photochemistry topic and precious help for students in photochemistry.
