Book Radiation Processes in Crystal Solid Solutions

Download or read book Radiation Processes in Crystal Solid Solutions written by Gennadi Gladyshev and published by Bentham Science Publishers. This book was released on 2012-03-31 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Radiation Processes In Crystal Solid Solutions is a monograph explaining processes occurring in two classes of crystal solids (metal alloys and doped alkali halides) under irradiation by various types of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma, X-radiations, ions). While metal alloys may differ in high radiation stability, solid solutions based on alkali halides are very radiation-sensitive materials. Radiation defect production mechanisms, intrinsic and extrinsic radiation defects, a role of complexes an impurity-radiation defect which explain distinction in radiating stability of the specified classes of solid solutions are discussed in this e-book. To describe radiation induced phase transformations, two approaches are highlighted: kinetic and thermodynamic. This e-book also includes research on the effect of small radiation doses in a structurally solid phase state of a solution along with a semi-quantitative estimation of radiation effects with respect to temperature changes. This e-book should be a useful reference for advanced readers interested in the physics of radiation and solid state physics.

Book InAs1 XPX Semiconductor Solid Solutions in Modern Electronics

Download or read book InAs1 XPX Semiconductor Solid Solutions in Modern Electronics written by Nodar Kekelidze and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2022-09-23 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semiconductor-based devices with increased reliability, low cost, unusual lightness, small size, and minimal service have become an important part of our daily lives. It is difficult to imagine life without electronic vehicles, TVs, computers, smartphones, medical networks, and global e-commerce. As this book argues, semiconductors are the main “driving force” behind economic strength, national security, and resilience in times of crisis. However, novel types of semiconductors are needed in order to support ever-growing scaling demands today. Developing semiconductors with desired properties, such as tolerance to radiation, for instance, is of crucial importance. InAs-InP solid solutions present an example of such materials used for cutting-edge electronic technologies. Packed with diagrams and accompanying detailed computations, this book provides a comprehensive coverage of InAs1-xPx solid solutions, from the production of single bulk crystals and layers to the thorough study of their properties and to their inexhaustible application potential in electronics.

Book Hydrogen Materials Science and Chemistry of Metal Hydrides

Download or read book Hydrogen Materials Science and Chemistry of Metal Hydrides written by T. Nejat Veziroglu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2002-10-31 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2001 International Conference «Hydrogen Materials Science and Chemistry of Metal Hydrides» (ICHMS'2001) was held in the picturesque town Alushta (Crimea, Ukraine) on the bank of Black Sea in September 16-22, 2001. In the tradition of the earlier ICHMS conferences, the 7th ICHMS'2001 provided an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest research on transition to hydrogen-based energy systems, technologies for hydrogen production, storage, utilization, materials, energy and environmental problems. The aim of ICHMS '200 1 was to provide an overview of the latest information on research and development in the different topics cited above. The representatives from industry, public laboratories, universities and governmental agencies could meet, discuss and present the most recent advances in hydrogen concepts, processes and systems, to evaluate current progress in these areas of investigations and to identify promising research directions for the future. The ICHMS'2001 was the first conference in this series, where a related new important topic of considerable current interest on fullerene-related materials as hydrogen storage was included into the conference program. The hydrogen sorbing properties of newly discovered carbon nanostructural materials inspire hydrogen scientists with optimism. Thus, the ICHMS'2001 conference was unique in bringing together hydrogen and carbon materials researchers and engineers from developed countries of Europe and America, new independent states of FSU and other countries for discussions in advanced materials development and applications.

Book Radiation Chemical Processes in Solid Phase

Download or read book Radiation Chemical Processes in Solid Phase written by Evginiy I. Grigoriev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1996-11-14 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlike many other references, Radiation-Chemical Processes in Solid Phase analyzes experimental data on radiolysis in terms of solid-state physics. It traces the effect exerted by media from primary processes of radiation-substance interaction to final products. The authors consider the main chemically active elementary excitations arising under irradiation of solids and discuss the mechanisms of chemical reactions induced by them. They present the general principles of solid-state and molecular physics, and cover numerous radiation-chemical processes.
