Su investigación es reciente y se encuentra en continuo auge debido a su alta prevalencia y como factor relacionado con el maltrato psicológico en la pareja. La dependencia emocional correlaciona positivamente con una baja autoestima y autoconcepto y se asocia con trastornos depresivos y ansiosos, entre otros. En este trabajo se presenta una propuesta de intervención con la que se busca aumentar la autoestima de la paciente, mejorar su conciencia del problema y dotarle de herramientas y habilidades para su aplicación en las relaciones de pareja. Para ello se describen técnicas de reestructuración cognitiva, psico-educación, reflexión, confrontación y experimentación de vivencias positivas consigo misma.

Consta de 10 sesiones diseñadas para ser llevadas a cabo en grupos pequeños, y su alta estructuración permite que lo practiquen psicólogas sin mucha experiencia en el trabajo con mujeres maltratadas, aunque puede adaptarse a las características del grupo y se puede combinar con terapia individual.

Book excerpt: Este trabajo parte de un estudio general de la violencia para centrarse en el maltrato doméstico como una manifestación más de la conducta violenta de los individuos. Se analiza su epidemiología, características y componentes básicos; sus repercusiones sociales, físicas y, de modo especial, psicológicas, así como la respuesta de instituciones y recursos disponibles a nivel jurídico, social, médico y psicológico. La violencia doméstica produce graves consecuencias en la salud emocional de las víctimas. Se ha descrito la presencia síntomas de ansiedad, depresión, sentimientos de baja autoestima, problemas de sueño, consumo de sustancias, etc, así como cuadros psicopatológicos (e.g. Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático TEPT-, o Depresión), que provocan un alto malestar psicológico y son responsables de problemas de adaptación social. Esta Tesis Doctoral desarrolla un programa de tratamiento ajustado a las víctimas de violencia doméstica que, sin llegar a cumplir un TEPT, presentan evidentes signos de malestar psicológico (síntomas postraumáticos aislados, sintomatología asociada síntomas depresivos, de ansiedad, baja autoestima, psicopatológicos, problemas con la expresión de la ira-, y problemas de adaptación psicosocial). Se determina la eficacia diferencial de esta intervención analizando sus componentes fundamentales y el formato de aplicación, tras uno, tres, seis y doce meses de seguimiento. Se desarrollaron dos fases. En la primera, se analizó la eficacia en función de los componentes. Se aplicó el programa de tratamiento en formato grupal a una muestra de 53 mujeres. 25 de ellas recibieron la intervención incluyendo entrenamiento en habilidades de comunicación, y las 28 restantes, con exposición. Se encontró que ésta última resultaba más eficaz en la mejora de los síntomas postraumáticos, asociados y psicosociales, a corto y largo plazo. En la segunda fase, se comparó la eficacia de este programa en función del formato. 28 mujeres recibieron la intervención en formato grupal y 25, en formato individual. Análisis finales determinaron que el programa de exposición en formato grupal es más eficaz y supone, además, una alternativa de tratamiento efectiva y eficiente para las víctimas de violencia doméstica.

El pacto de silencio que ha amparado durante años a este problema, al considerarse que lo que pasaba dentro de las paredes del hogar es algo íntimo en lo que no deben intervenir personas ajenas, ha permitido que la violencia doméstica se haya mantenido sin ningún esfuerzo por tratar de ponerle coto. Sería deseable erradicar de forma inmediata este fenómeno, y numerosos esfuerzos comienzan a confluir para lograr este objetivo, pero, dada la complejidad de factores (culturales, sociales, familiares y personales) implicados en su desarrollo y mantenimiento, los resultados sólo pueden conseguirse de forma gradual. Mientras tanto, las personas que están padeciendo esta situación necesitan ayuda y soluciones, algunas veces de forma desesperada. Las cifras de mujeres muertas anualmente por este problema no dejan de ser sobrecogedoras. Es necesario ofrecer soluciones, vías de acción para estas personas con un padecimiento tan importante y unas condiciones de vida tan angustiosas, tan injustas y tan crueles. Esta obra ofrece un programa de actuación para ayudar a las víctimas de la violencia doméstica a identificar su problema, a aprender unas pautas de acción eficaz sea cual sea su situación actual, a superar las secuelas que pueda haberles producido el maltrato y, desde luego, a desarrollar, si es necesario, una nueva vida social.

Its demise is due to the «alchemical» destruction of the world's resources, thought of, theologically legitimized and fetishized as «creation». This violence is not recognized. Elites have, instead, begun with a new «military alchemy», treating the whole Planet as weapon of mass destruction. Hence, the «Planetary Movement for Mother Earth».
