Download or read book Introduction to Pascal and Structured Design written by Nell B. Dale and published by Jones & Bartlett Learning. This book was released on 1996-11 with total page 1000 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Pascal and Structured Design, provides a concise, accessible introduction to computer science. Using Pascal programming as a tool to shape students' understanding of the discipline, the text offers a strong focus on good programming habits and techniques. The smooth integration of programming essentials, software engineering principles and contemporary theory creates an effective blend for students' first courses in computer science. An emphasis on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and algorithmic design teaches the skills needed for effective program implementation. A wide array of in-text learning aids, including Problem-Solving Case Studies, ample exercises and problems, and nine useful appendices, completes the text. Click here for downloadable student files

Download or read book Programming for Software Sharing written by D.T. Muxworthy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most computer users are familiar with the problems of sharing software with others, and the transfer of programs from one computing environment to another. Software represents an ever-increasing proportion of the cost of computing and these costs tend to nullify all the economic advantages flowing from the wider availability of cheap hardware. Years ago it was hoped that the widespread use of high-level programming languages would help in alleviating the problems of software production, by increasing productivity and by making it simpler for users with similar problems to be able to use the same programs, possibly on different types of machines. It is a common experience that in practice this simple optimism has proved to be unfounded. It was these considerations which led us in 1979 to organize a two-week course on "Programming for Software Sharing" at the European Community Joint Research Centre, Ispra Establishment (Italy), forming part of the regular series of "Ispra Courses". With prominent invited lecturers, local contributions and through discussion sessions we examined with an audience from many countries the problems involved in the sharing and transfer of software, as well as suggesting ways of overcoming them. In our local environment we are faced daily with three problems both from engagements in software exchange in the scientific-technical field on a Europe-wide or world-wide basis, and from work with programming techniques and contributions to the international standardization process.

Download or read book Turbo Pascal Programming written by Gary B. Shelly and published by Boyd & Fraser Publishing Company. This book was released on 1987 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This programming textbook emphasizes file processing early, and features step-by-step explanations of sound programming design and structured programming in a problem-orientated approach. There is extensive coverage of single and multiple dimensional arrays, arrays of records, and sequential and binary array searching techniques. Procedures, recursion and sorting are comprehensively discussed and every Pascal statement required in each program example is explained and illustrated. Numerous problems are included, illustrating typical business, scientific and general interest applications. End-of-chapter review questions, coding exercises, structured work-through exercises and student programming assignments are also present. This book should be of interest to degree and diploma students on introductory courses in Pascal programming.

This book was released on 2010-12-31 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Software engineering has advanced rapidly in recent years in parallel with the complexity and scale of software systems. New requirements in software systems yield innovative approaches that are developed either through introducing new paradigms or extending the capabilities of well-established approaches. Modern Software Engineering Concepts and Practices: Advanced Approaches provides emerging theoretical approaches and their practices. This book includes case studies and real-world practices and presents a range of advanced approaches to reflect various perspectives in the discipline.

Download or read book Multiple Criteria and Multiple Constraint Levels Linear Programming written by Yong Shi and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2001-06-28 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces multiple criteria and multiple constraint levels linear programming (MC2LP), which is an extension of linear programming (LP) and multiple criteria linear programming (MCLP). In the last decade, the author and a group of researchers from the USA, China, Korea, Germany, and Hungary have been working on the theory and applications of MC2LP problems. This volume integrates their main research results ranging from theoretical bases to broad areas of real world applications. The theoretical bases include the formulation of MC2LP; integer MC2LP and MC2 transportation model; fuzzy MC2LP and fuzzy duality of MC2LP; optimal system designs and contingency plans; MC2 decision support system; and MC2 computer software development. The application areas are accounting, management information systems, production planning, and telecommunications management. The book serves as a seminar text for both undergraduates and graduates who have a linear algebra or equivalent background. For practitioners, it will help in handling LP type problems in multiple decision making environment.
