Book Introduction to Sectional Anatomy

Download or read book Introduction to Sectional Anatomy written by Michael E. Madden and published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. This book was released on 2008 with total page 668 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Featuring all the latest imaging modalities—including ultrasound, MR, and PET/CT—this Second Edition text provides a solid understanding of sectional anatomy and its applications in clinical imaging. Chapters on each body region include patient CT and MR images shown in sequence through multiple planes, followed by clinical cases centered on CT, MR, ultrasound, and PET/CT images. By comparing images from different patients, readers learn to distinguish normal anatomic variations from variations that indicate disease or injury. This edition includes new clinical cases and has a new layout that makes it easier to compare images from several patients. Each chapter ends with clinical application questions.

Book Chest Atlas

Download or read book Chest Atlas written by Mary L. Durizch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chest Atlas: Correlated Thin-Section Anatomy in Five Planes is a highly accurate, definitive anatomic reference of the chest. Anatomic specimens and specimen radiographs were obtained from fresh-frozen cadavers whose lungs were re-inflated to render the most accurate, life-like representation possible. The authors then meticulously matched computed tomography, trispiral tomogram, and magnetic resonance images of normal subjects to the corresponding anatomic section. A plain film radiograph of each section completes the correlation between cadaver and clinical imaging techniques. Each section from each plane is displayed on a two-page spread containing the labeled anatomic specimen in full color, the anatomic key, and the radiographic images, thus facilitating the correlation of the anatomic specimen and radiographs. The reader's understanding is also enhanced by: - fresh-frozen cadavers, meticulously prepared and sectioned - sectioning of all planes (axial, coronal, sagittal, left oblique and right oblique) - retention of normal tissue color - section keys to keep the reader oriented - uniform labeling key throughout the book - state-of-the-art clinical images, precisely correlated to the cadaver sections This atlas will be especially useful to radiologists, surgeons, and chest physicians who seek a definitive reference source on normal chest anatomy. This book will be an invaluable reference source for correlating diagnostic images with clinical findings.

Book Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields

Download or read book Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields written by B. Jon Klauenberg and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has sponsored research supporting development of personnel safety standards for exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation (RFR) for over a quarter century. NATO previously recognized that one of the most important tools used in the RFR effects research laboratory is accurate dosimetry when it supported a NATO Advanced Studies Institute (ASI) on Advances in Biological Effects and Dosimetry of Low Energy Electromagnetic Fields held in 1981, in Erice, Sicily. That meeting resulted in a NATO ASI publication; Biological Effects and Dosimetry of l Non-ionizing Radiation: Radiofrequency and Microwave Energies . The most recent NATO sponsored program on RFR was an Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) on "Developing a New Standardization Agreement (STANAG) for Radio frequency Radiation" held May 1993, at the Pratica di Mare Italian Air Force Base, Pomezia (Rome) Italy. That ARW produced an ASI proceedings, published in 1995: Radio frequency Radiation Standards, Biological Effects, Dosimetry, Epidemiology, and Public Health Policy2. The Rome ARW and the Proceedings served as a springboard to the much needed revision of the NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 2345 MED "Evaluation and Control of Personnel Exposure to Radio Frequency Fields - 3 kHz to 300 GHz,,3, which was subsequently promulgated in October 1998. One of the published recommendations developed by the Rome ARW was to hold this second ARW focusing on dosimetry and measurements.
