Book Overcome the Mental Challenges of Weight Loss

Download or read book Overcome the Mental Challenges of Weight Loss written by Ron Kness and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-06-24 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Overcome the mental challenges of weight loss. Never again suffer the frustration of yo-yo dieting and eventual weight gain. For years, we have been taught the way to lose weight was through "dieting." That is all wrong. Why? Because a diet has a definite ending point and once reached, most people go back to their old eating habits and put on the weight they lost (and sometimes even more). A better way is to change to a healthy lifestyle that doesn't have an ending point. No longer are you tied to losing weight according to some unrealistic schedule, only to put it all back on later. With no ending point, so you can lose weight at your own pace and keep it off. It truly is the ONLY way to permanent weight loss.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary purpose of fitness and body composition standards in the U.S. Armed Forces has always been to select individuals best suited to the physical demands of military service, based on the assumption that proper body weight and composition supports good health, physical fitness, and appropriate military appearance. The current epidemic of overweight and obesity in the United States affects the military services. The pool of available recruits is reduced because of failure to meet body composition standards for entry into the services and a high percentage of individuals exceeding military weight-for-height standards at the time of entry into the service leave the military before completing their term of enlistment. To aid in developing strategies for prevention and remediation of overweight in military personnel, the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command requested the Committee on Military Nutrition Research to review the scientific evidence for: factors that influence body weight, optimal components of a weight loss and weight maintenance program, and the role of gender, age, and ethnicity in weight management.

DISCLAIMER - This is NOT just another weight loss book telling you all of the information you already know.My name is Thomas J Kalloway and I've been interested in weight loss (more specifically, the psychological barriers to weight loss) since before I can remember. For the last 5 years, I have spent many hundreds of hours researching why so many people fail at weight loss and I have found that these problems go way beyond the individual just not knowing HOW TO lose weight. The fact is that most people know how to lose weight, you move more and eat less right? According to the CDC National Centre for Health Statistics (2017-18), 73.6% of American adults aged 20 and over were either overweight or obese, and you think that all of these people didn't know how to lose weight? This isn't the reason that most people fail. The problems people face don't come from not knowing, they come from the internal and external factors that affect their ability to maintain a calorie deficit. In this book, we will deep dive into the social, psychological, and physiological factors that determine our success or failure in losing weight and give you the strategies that you need to successfully lose weight (and keep it off) and understand how your environment can influence what you eat and how to overcome it. If you already know (or don't know) how to lose weight but still struggle to, then this may be your solution to overcoming those barriers that have been hindering your success for so long.In this book you will discover: -The factors that determine your success/failure to weight loss.-How to overcome the 4 main influences on your diet.-The tricks to identify and break bad food habits.-Why FAD diets will fail you... FOREVER.-The ACTUAL proven method to lose weight (and keep it off).-How your geographical location, culture, and beliefs influence your diet. -Strategies that you can put into action straight away to break free of influences on your food choices.-The common misconceptions spread by the media on weight loss.-How the media and advertisement use your senses against you.-The specific hormones that cause you to feel starving and how to have more control over them. -How to have more energy throughout your day.Tones of research have gone into this book and the strategies involved have been tried and tested on many of my clients to supplement their weight loss journey. By implementing the strategies inside this book into your day-to-day life you'll be able to succeed in your weight loss goal, manage your energy levels and food intake and enjoy the process rather than hating every minute (an unsustainable diet is an unsuccessful diet). You may be thinking this is too good to be true right? Well, there is a slight catch, this isn't a magical book that allows you to drop the pounds just by glancing at it, you'll have to put in the work on your end too. If you have no desire to change your lifestyle for the better and implement these strategies properly then DO NOT buy this book, it isn't for you. However, if you're ready to lose weight the right way and live a healthier, longer life in the process then these strategies are for you!If you're tired of constantly failing at losing weight and want some simple strategies that will skyrocket your weight loss success and can be implemented as quickly as today, then scroll up and click the Add to Cart button.

  • ISBN : 1556438508
  • Pages : 312 pages

Download or read book The Warrior Diet written by Ori Hofmekler and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2009-03-03 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Along with the many benefits of leisure-class living comes obesity and its attendant ailments. In The Warrior Diet, Ori Hofmekler looks not forward but backward for a solution–to the primal habits of early cultures such as nomads and hunter-gatherers, the Greeks, and the Romans. Based on survival science, this book proposes not ordinary dietary changes but rather a radical yet surprisingly simple lifestyle overhaul. Drawing on both scientific studies and historical data, Hofmekler argues that robust health and a lean, strong body can best be achieved by mimicking the classical warrior mode of cycling—working and eating sparingly (undereating) during the day and filling up at night. Specific elements from the Warrior Diet Nutritional Program (finding ideal fuel foods and food combinations to reduce body fat) to the Controlled Fatigue Training Program (promoting strength, speed, and resilience to fatigue through special drills), literally reshape body and mind. Individual chapters cover warrior meals and recipes; sex drive, potency, and animal magnetism; as well as personalizing the diet for women. Featuring forewords by Fit for Life author Harvey Diamond and Fat That Kills author Dr. Udo Erasmus, The Warrior Diet shows readers weary of fad diets how to attain enduring vigor, explosive strength, a better appearance, and increased vitality and health.

Book Overcoming Fear of Fat

Download or read book Overcoming Fear of Fat written by Esther D Rothblum and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-25 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is an enlightening new volume that presents an integration of anti-fat-oppressive attitudes into the work of feminist therapy. Overcoming Fear of Fat is unique among professional work in the area of women and fat in that it does not approach size as the problem; rather it approaches prejudice against fat as the problem. Although for nearly a decade, fat activists have been raising the issues that are confronted in this book, therapists, including feminist therapists, have been colluding with their clients in pathologizing fat, celebrating weight loss, and failing to adequately challenge cultural stereotypes of attractiveness for women, instead of empowering clients and encouraging them to take on expert authority about their own experiences. The contributors, including therapists and fat activists, aim to disconnect the issues of food intake and eating disorders from those of weight. They share personal and professional experiences of challenging fat oppression, offer strategies for therapists to rid themselves and their clients of fat oppressive attitudes, and most importantly, they confront long-held cultural myths that fat is unhealthy, and that fat women are physically unfit and are in hiding from their sexuality or personal power. A practical and informative resource for therapists, especially those who work with fat women or who themselves struggle with issues of feeling critical of their own body size, Overcoming Fear of Fat will also be a valuable guide for fat women who wish to feel supported in their struggle for self-worth and respect.

Book Mindset for Weight Loss

Download or read book Mindset for Weight Loss written by Shawn Burke and published by Estalontech. This book was released on 2019-10-04 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A “Mindset for Weight Loss” Can work within Your Comfort Zone There’s a popular saying – “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” When it comes to weight loss, this saying is your mantra. If you’re overweight or obese, in most cases, it’s the result of a sedentary lifestyle and poor food choices. There’s no escaping this harsh truth. Your body is a reflection of your actions. You wear what you eat and once you proactively accept ownership of the situation, it’ll be much easier to make changes and get ahead. Affirmations for a Positive Weight Loss Mindset Affirmations encourage self-change when you use them. They act as reminders and inspiration to help you focus on your weight loss goals during your day. The most significant benefit gained from using affirmations is that they focus attention on your goals and promote positive thoughts through a considerable change in your life. Your weight loss progress will mostly be determined by your diet. You’ll need to gradually cut down on the starchy carbohydrates, processed foods and junk food. You’ll also need to reduce your portion sizes. Even if you’re making small changes, your body will resist because we’re all creatures of habit .While manageable, it’ll still be a challenge to stay disciplined and not drink the third can. Accept this fact. Change will be met with resistance. Yet, change is necessary. Old habits are hard to break… but they can be broken. The act of breaking them will mean proactively seeking to make changes. Since most changes take place outside the comfort zone, you can expect some inconvenience and hassle. When trying to form a new habit, it’ll take time because not only do you have to overcome the negative repercussions of breaking the old ones, but you’ll also need to find the discipline to stick to the new ones – which usually don’t seem fun at all. So, persevere until the habit is no longer a struggle. When you look for a weight loss affirmation, seek out a positive statement about your weight loss process. By now you’ll realize that losing weight is a mental challenge and not a physical one. Step out of your comfort zone and make the necessary changes to achieve your weight loss goal. “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” – Henry Ford
