Ressalta como os novos tipos de relações de trabalho demandam a formação de um modelo próprio para aferir a imputação de responsabilidade trabalhista, um tertium genus distinto da tipologia civilista (objetiva/subjetiva). Analisa os efeitos da revolução digital no modelo sindical existente e aponta a necessidade de mudanças, para que a autonomia privada coletiva possa ser exercida para garantir proteção aos direitos fundamentais nas novas relações de trabalho, inclusive no âmbito internacional. Destaca a importância de promover a reconfiguração da negociação coletiva trabalhista, para abranger novos temas de direito material e processual, ensejando a formulação de outras regras de hermenêutica. A reconstrução do direito coletivo do trabalho vem exigindo a ressignificação do princípio da solidariedade por novos marcos axiológicos, que consigam resgatar a primazia da nova realidade fática como parte integrante do alicerce, de um direito voltado à proteção dos direitos fundamentais dos trabalhadores, para possibilitar a republicana articulação entre o regramento posto pelo Estado e as normas negociadas pelos corpos intermediários, que integram a nação brasileira, a fim de viabilizar a implantação de um efetivo desenvolvimento sustentável.

The author argues that when artists invade public space for the sake of disseminating rage, claims or statements, they behave as urban citizens who try to raise public awareness, nurture public debates and hold authorities accountable. Street art also reveals how public space is governed. When local authorities try to contain, regulate or repress public space invasions, they can achieve their goals democratically if they dialogue with the artists and try to reach a consensus inspired by a conception of the city as a commons. Under specific conditions, the book argues, street level democracy and collaborative governance can overlap, prompting a democratization of democracy.

But there are huge problems in the 'post-revolutionary' era: farmers with small or marginal holdings have benefited less than wealthier farmers; intensive mono-cropping has made production more susceptible to environmental stresses and shocks. Now there is evidence of diminishing returns from intensive and intensively chemical agricultural production. What is needed is a new approach, equally revolutionary, but different in its ideas and style. The authors set out what they mean by 'sustainable' agriculture in the new era and look at the effects of international economic restraints and of national policies on the kind of development they see as necessary. They chart a path for sustainable livelihoods for Third World farmers enmeshed by forces outside their control. They describe methods of evaluating and resolving the tough trade-offs all levels of intervention, from international trade down to the individual farm. This book cannot provide all the answers, but it does indicate what international conditions we need to be aware of, what national policies we need to advocate and what approaches at the local level we need to adopt to ensure the goal of agricultural sustainability. Described as the biggest migration in human history, an estimated 250 million Chinese people have left their villages in recent decades to live and work in urban areas. Xinyuan Wang spent 15 months living among a community of these migrants in a small factory town in southeast China to track their use of social media. It was here she witnessed a second migration taking place: a movement from offline to online. As Wang argues, this is not simply a convenient analogy but represents the convergence of two phenomena as profound and consequential as each other, where the online world now provides a home for the migrant workers who feel otherwise ‘homeless’. Wang’s fascinating study explores the full range of preconceptions commonly held about Chinese people – their relationship with education, with family, with politics, with ‘home’ – and argues why, for this vast population, it is time to reassess what we think we know about contemporary China and the evolving role of social media.
