Il n'est pas inutile de se rappeler, en effet, que l'immense majorite de ce repertoire ne nous est connue que par les editions imprimees de l'epoque ; les tres rares manuscrits d'orgue francais, environ une vingtaine, qui nous sont parvenus n'ont qu'une faible importance dans l'ensemble du repertoire.
