Cependant, le niveau élevé de défiance vaccinale en France est également rencontré chez certains professionnels de santé. Nous avons cherché à déterminer les perceptions des sages-femmes françaises concernant les vaccins, notamment ceux dirigés contre la grippe et la coqueluche. Matériel/méthode : Nous avons diffusé un questionnaire anonyme en ligne ciblant les sages-femmes françaises encore en formation ou diplômées, de septembre à décembre 2017, via les écoles et les conseils départementaux de l'ordre. Résultats : 914 questionnaires ont été analysé (âge moyen 31±11 ans). 43,3% des participants étaient des étudiants. Les autres sujets avaient reçus leur diplôme en moyenne 15±12 ans auparavant. Sur une échelle allant de 0 à 100, la perception de l'utilité, de la sureté et de la confiance en la vaccination était respectivement de 88,3±15, 74,5±20 et 80,0±19. Cependant, la couverture vaccinale en France reste médiocre pour un nombre important de vaccin, et l'opinion favorable de cette thérapeutique préventive fluctue régulièrement. La sage-femme, prenant une place de plus en plus importante dans le suivi des femmes, s'est vu autoriser la prescription et la pratique de la vaccination depuis 2004, avec un élargissement à l'entourage des femmes enceintes en 2016. Face à ces compétences encore récentes, et à la méfiance vaccinale qui existe en France, il nous a semblé important de connaître l'opinion des sages-femmes libérales des Pays de la Loire au sujet de la vaccination, ainsi que leurs connaissances et leurs pratiques. Pour cela, nous avons analysé 88 questionnaires. Il en est ressorti un sentiment plutôt favorable de la vaccination en générale (avec 92 % d'avis favorable). Cependant, il est également apparu un manque de connaissances en leurs compétences vaccinales et par conséquent une pratique modeste. Nous avons également constaté qu'une perception personnelle défavorable pouvait avoir des conséquences dans la pratique quotidienne des SF. Il apparait donc qu'une formation initiale et continue plus approfondie sur la vaccination soit nécessaire. La vérification du statut vaccinal des femmes venant consulter devrait également être un axe à explorer en systématique. Enfin, des plaquettes et affiches pourraient être mises à disposition dans les salles d'attentes pour que les patientes puissent plus facilement ouvrir le dialogue sur ce sujet.

The 2018 TZG updates and expands on the guidance in the one previous jointly-developed, zoonoses-specific guidance document: the 2008 Tripartite “Zoonotic Diseases: A Guide to Establishing Collaboration between Animal and Human Health Sectors at the Country Level”, developed in WHO South-East Asia Region and Western Pacific Region. The 2018 TZG supports building by countries of the resilience and capacity to address emerging and endemic zoonotic diseases such as avian influenza, rabies, Ebola, and Rift Valley fever, as well as food-borne diseases and antimicrobial resistance, and to minimize their impacts on health, livelihoods, and economies. It additionally supports country efforts to implement WHO International Health Regulations (2005) and OIE international standards, to address gaps identified through external and internal health system evaluations, and to achieve targets of the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2018 TZG provides relevant country ministries and agencies with lessons learned and good practices identified from country-level experiences in taking OH approaches for preparedness, prevention, detection and response to zoonotic disease threats, and provides guidance on multisectoral communication, coordination, and collaboration. It informs on regional and country-level OH activities and relevant unisectoral and multisectoral tools available for countries to use.

Cultural memories can be defined as the social constructions of the past that allow individuals and groups to orient themselves in time and space. The investigation of cultural memories has necessitated an interdisciplinary perspective, though geographical questions about the spaces, places, and landscapes of memory have acquired a special significance. The essays in this volume, written by leading anthropologists, geographers, historians, and psychologists, open a range of new interpretations of the formation and development of cultural memories from ancient times to the present day. The volume is divided into five interconnected sections. The first section outlines the theoretical considerations that have shaped recent debates about cultural memory. The second section provides detailed case studies of three key themes: the founding myths of the nation-state, the contestation of national collective memories during periods of civil war, and the oral traditions that move beyond national narrative. The third section examines the role of World War II as a pivotal episode in an emerging European cultural memory. The aim of this collection of texts is to propose a number of specific measures member states can take to help adult migrants become acquainted with the language of the host country. The main focus is on organising language courses that meet migrants’ real communication needs. It is not enough for authorities simply to consider the technical aspects of such courses, they should also design and conduct them in accordance with the fundamental values of the Council of Europe. A number of issues concerning the linguistic integration of adult migrants are presented here, beginning with the notion of linguistic integration itself. Family reunion, the nature of citizenship and the function of language tests, among others, are dealt with from the point of view of language and language use. Philosophy and political theory, historiography, theology, and literature and the arts have, often in dialogue with one another, sought to represent or recalibrate notions of rule. Yet whatever covenant was imagined, sovereign rule has consistently been figured as a male prerogative While in-depth studies of historical women rulers have proliferated in the past decades, these have not systematically explored how all women rulers throughout the entirety of European culture have had to operate in a context that could not think power as female – except in grotesque terms. Strategic Imaginations demonstrates that this constitutive tension can only be brought out by studying women’s political rule in a comparative and longue durée manner. The book offers a collection of essays that brings together studies of female sovereignty from the Polish-Lithuanian to the British Commonwealth, and from the Middle Ages to the genesis of modern democracy. Based on anthropological fieldwork carried out in a group of neighbourhoods in the periphery of Niamey, the study highlights the political dimensions of public service provision in a local arena where international development interventions and national plans meet local realities and where a wide range of actors and institutions, discourses, meanings, and practices are mobilized in the offering of and the regulation of access to public services. It focuses on the political, economic, and socio-cultural aspects of public service provision, too often hidden behind contemporary buzzwords of development such as community participation and decentralization that dominate global debates about education and healthcare in developing countries. The study brings forth the strategies of urban residents in dealing with daily challenges in the consolidation of service provision and in education and health-seeking trajectories. It shows that access to a satisfactory treatment of illness or a successful school career is premised on the ability to navigate on the medical and education markets, which are made up of a plurality of providers and of official and unofficial costs and transactions. Further, these public services engage different actors such as community committees, traditional chiefs, local associations, the municipality and elected municipal councillors, emergent leaders, NGOs, and international development aid. The study demonstrates that despite the uncertainty of state support in health and education provision and a widespread dissatisfaction with these public services, the image of the state as service provider is reproduced on a day by day basis through local efforts at securing public services.
