Book Radar Automatic Target Recognition ATR and Non Cooperative Target Recognition NCTR

Download or read book Radar Automatic Target Recognition ATR and Non Cooperative Target Recognition NCTR written by David Blacknell and published by IET. This book was released on 2013-08-23 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Radar Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and NonCooperative Target Recognition (NCTR) captures material presented by leading international experts at a NATO lecture series and explores both the fundamentals of classification techniques applied to data from a variety of radar modes and selected advanced techniques at the forefront of research. The ability to detect and locate targets by day or night, over wide areas, regardless of weather conditions has long made radar a key sensor in many military and civil applications. However, the ability to automatically and reliably distinguish different targets represents a difficult challenge, although steady progress has been made over the past couple of decades. This book explores both the fundamentals of classification techniques applied to data from a variety of radar modes and selected advanced techniques at the forefront of research. Topics include: the problem as applied to the ground, air and maritime domains; impact of image quality on the overall target recognition performance; performance of different approaches to the classifier algorithm; improvement in performance to be gained when a target can be viewed from more than one perspective; ways in which natural systems perform target recognition; impact of compressive sensing; advances in change detection, including coherent change detection; and challenges and directions for future research.

Book Non Cooperative Target Tracking Fusion and Control

Download or read book Non Cooperative Target Tracking Fusion and Control written by Zhongliang Jing and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-23 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a concise and comprehensive overview of non-cooperative target tracking, fusion and control. Focusing on algorithms rather than theories for non-cooperative targets including air and space-borne targets, this work explores a number of advanced techniques, including Gaussian mixture cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CPHD) filter, optimization on manifold, construction of filter banks and tight frames, structured sparse representation, and others. Containing a variety of illustrative and computational examples, Non-cooperative Target Tracking, Fusion and Control will be useful for students as well as engineers with an interest in information fusion, aerospace applications, radar data processing and remote sensing.

ABSTRACT: The goal of this symposium was to describe the current and projected capability of RF systems for Non- Cooperative Target ldentificatiotwecognition (NC TI/NC TR) at long range and in all weather conditions Specific objectives were to review NCTI/NCTR R AND D efforts available to NATO nations, suggest how and when this technology may contribute to an operational Combat Identification (CID) capability, and address coalition interoperability issues. The symposium was organized along the following themes: NCTI/NCTR of air targets, surface targets, passive RF systems AND technology, and countenneasures against NCTI/NCTR.

Book Noncooperative Target Classification of Forward Area Air Defense Threats

Download or read book Noncooperative Target Classification of Forward Area Air Defense Threats written by and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Army Advanced Concept & Technology II (ACT II) program demonstrated an enhanced combat identification capability to the Forward Area Air Defense System by measuring the unique vibrational signatures of airborne targets as discriminants. The engagements were conducted during the Air Defense Battle Lab Support Element's Live Experiment II Exercise in which fixed-wing aircraft, rotor-wing aircraft, and a simulated unmanned air vehicle were engaged, classified, and identified as friend or foe.
