An earlier generation of the family, Robert and Isaac Hutchins were settled in the Virginia colony. Robert is listed in Hotten's List as a holder of 100 acres patented below Blounte Pointe. They had emigrated from Towcester Parish, Northamptonshire, England. Several generations of descendants are given.
