Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In life, we all have decisions. Growing up in a dysfunctional Brady bunch with two mothers and four dads, life was anything but simple. From my dad killing my best friend to my siblings taking advantage of my innocence and finding my mother naked numerous times surrounded by pills. All this before I was seven. At a young age, I learned how to persevere and be resilient. It was a rocky road battling crippling mental illness and having the only constant in life be change. It was lonely and demeaning. My biggest roadblocks were family. Blood does not always run thicker than water. But I adapted. I overcame. I beat the odds. I chose the road less traveled. I never accepted defeat.

Book excerpt: "The opportunity for the greatest turnaround in college football exists here today, and it's not one to be taken lightly." — Bill Snyder A captivating autobiography from the architect of Kansas State football When Kansas State hired Bill Snyder as its head football coach in 1988, the Wildcats had one of the worst programs in college football and hadn't won a conference title since 1934. Little could anybody predict that Snyder would soon engineer a total transformation in Manhattan, Kansas. From his humble beginnings in St. Joseph, Missouri, Snyder rose to greatness, bringing K-State up from the ashes to a No. 1 ranking, six 11-win seasons in a span of seven years, and one Big 12 Championship. He still wasn't finished. After a three-year retirement, Snyder returned to lead the Wildcats to another Big 12 title. In 2015, he became just the fourth person in college football history to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as an active coach. In this new memoir, Snyder reflects on a successful yet complicated life, detailing the grueling 80-hour work weeks, his visionary Wildcat Goals for Success, and the virtues he doubled down on during his final years as head coach, all the while battling throat cancer. Readers will discover a multi-faceted portrait of one of college football's greatest leaders, his triumphs and defeats, his greatness and his flaws, and his passion and drive to, not once, but twice, lead a championship team while developing young men.

Book excerpt: For readers of #GIRLBOSS and viewers of Shark Tank—a global revolution in entrepreneurship is under way, inspiring women to blaze a trail of financial self-reliance and become self-made. Featuring a foreword by Suze Orman. What does it mean to be self-made? It’s not just about having money, but financial empowerment is where it begins. It means getting out of survival mode, where you are one problem away from catastrophe. It means changing your mindset from instant gratification to goal orientation. It means being able to sleep at night without worry. It means being rich in every way: rich in money, rich in family, rich in love, rich in time—abundant! For Nely Galán—entrepreneur, TV producer, and real estate mogul—helping women to become self-made is a movement and a mission. Galán pulls no punches. She is the straight-talking friend and mentor you’ve always wanted, and here she shares valuable, candid, no-nonsense lessons learned on her own path to becoming self-made (“There is no Prince Charming”; “Think like an immigrant”; “In your pain is your brand”; “Don’t buy shoes, buy buildings!”). You’ll read inspiring stories of women who started and grew businesses out of ingenuity, opportunity, and need. You’ll find exercises to help you identify your goals and your strengths. You’ll learn tips and tricks for saving money, making money, and finding “hidden money” that can help jump-start your self-made dreams. When you become self-made, the change in you inspires change in those around you, because one of the greatest rewards of a self-made life is seeing how the sparks from your personal revolution can light a fire in others. So come, join the Self-Made movement. The revolution starts inside of you! Praise for Self Made “A much-needed and wise book that teaches women not to fear money but to see it as a means of reaching our dreams. Nely shows us how to become money courageous instead of finance fearful. I want to give this book to so many women (and men) I know. Thank you, Nely.”—Sandra Cisneros “Nely Galán and I have traveled the country together helping women grow their businesses and live their dreams. I know firsthand that Nely is the ultimate self-made woman and your best girlfriend. Her generosity of spirit jumps off the page as she shares the secrets of her hard-won success and her contagious confidence.”—Nell Merlino, creator of Take Our Daughters to Work Day and founder of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence “Self Made teaches women to unleash their spark and hustle. Nely inspires readers to use what they have to get what they want on their path to becoming self-made.”—Tory Johnson, “Deals & Steals” contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America and author of the #1 New York Times bestseller The Shift “You are not truly complete as a woman until you feel confident and empowered to make decisions about your money. Throughout my career, I have seen how a woman who takes ownership of her financial life is transformed and liberated, and how that in turn has a tremendous impact on her children. This is my belief and my personal experience, and it’s why Self Made resonates so strongly with me.”—Maria Elena Lagomasino, CEO of WE Family Offices and member of the board of directors of the Walt Disney Company, the Coca-Cola Company, and Avon Products, Inc. Download or read book God of Solution written by Bishop Abdul K. Kargbo and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-07-17 with total page 67 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity is seeking for solutions in different areas of life. Some are sick and need to be healed; some have spiritual problems and need deliverance. Some have serious financial issues, and others may just dont know what to do with their lives because it has been from one difficulty to another. The list goes on. This book is meant to reveal and inspire the human race that God has a permanent way of solving our problems. He is our creator and maker of all things. No producer will find it difficult to fix his product no matter how damaging it may be. There are different sources of solution, but Gods means of solution is the best and most reliable. Man may help you with selfish motives, and even the solution may not be as dependable as Gods. God has need of us. Thats why he created us. He gave us salvation as a free gift by sacrificing his only son. Once we received this great salvation in Christ Jesus, then we may consequently be a candidate for divine solution in every other area of our life: healing, deliverance, restoration, and all-around breakthroughs. After salvation, God wishes above all things that we prosper and be in good health (3 John 1:2). We cant receive a godly solution to the problems of life until we surrender to God. We ought to show him that we are ready to serve him, and the change we need will be possible. For with God, nothing is impossible!

Book excerpt: 3D Virtual Applications: Applications with Virtual Inhabited 3D Worlds deals with the use of virtual inhabited 3D spaces in different domains of society. (Other volumes deal with interaction, production methodology and space.) From focusing on virtual reality (a reality into which users and objects from the real world should be moved) we are increasingly focusing on augmented reality (i.e. on moving computers out into the reality of real users, objects and activities). This book deals with the use of virtual inhabited 3D spaces in both contexts. Based on the structuring of the application domains, this book looks at the use of VR and augmented reality in the following major application domains: - Production oriented applications - use of VR and augmented reality for control of complex production plants, for navigation support (ships, cars, aeroplanes) and for support of collaborative work processes - Communication support applications - virtual spaces are used for supporting communication in learning environments and for support of organisational communication. Also virtual spaces are used for supporting the navigation of people in public spaces, i.e. as maps, planning tools - Scientific applications - use of 3D models for medical research; use of dynamic models for representation of abstract concepts and ideas (data-mining applications); use of dynamic 3D models for simulating biological or social processes - Artistic and cultural applications - the construction of stages representing concepts and/or emotions
