Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Definitive Edition includes the original, award-winning novel “Myracles in the Void” and a 27-chapter bonus story called “The Intervening” About Myracles in the Void: This is the story of the Izz Family from the forgotten, floating port town of Hop. The family's home, and indeed all of Hop, is made from repurposed ships, signs, barrels and boxes. The eldest child, Gai, is known for his ability to fix things, and he uses his talent to create a fiddle for his sister Lynd's thirteenth birthday. Lynd, on the other hand, is known to have objects suddenly break around her as if by magic. When Lynd suddenly disappears in a flash of destructive fury, all of Hop turns against the Izz family, accusing them of being cursed. Their father, Stav, had disappeared under strange circumstances as well. In his desperation, Gai discovers he can do more than just fix things with his hands, he also has a certain magic — one that seems to bring things back together. He also learns more about his father's disappearance and an ‘illness’ he had before he left. He worries for his sister, wondering if the same thing plagued her. With the help of a giant turtle named Emilie, Gai sets out from Hop to clear his family’s name, vowing to bring them all back together. Along his journey across the sea, he encounters a tech-city of gnomes, a Pocket Realm inside a beautiful painting, a tree that grants everlasting youth at a price, and of course answers to the nature of his powers — and his sister’s. They are not the only ones. In the world of Esa, all hearts posses a magic called myra that either bonds or breaks, creates or destroys. The use of this power, called a myracle, can be used to manipulate reality, such as creating or destroying objects, healing injuries, or altering the environment. However, they are not without their consequences; using the destructive power, called Ruin, can eventually turn that person into a Void — a monster with an unstoppable appetite for destruction that will engulf the entire world. Will Gai be able to find the source of the Ruin that has torn his family apart and save his sister and father before it’s too late? Download or read book The Miracle in the Middle written by Charlotte Gambill and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2015-06-02 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This compelling, story-driven message shows how those who persist through the burnout and valleys of the “middle” will find that miracles await them on the other side. If you've ever been on a long trip with small children, you've no doubt heard, "Are we there yet?" Maybe you've felt that same way as you have journeyed with God. It’s the midway point where most of us feel impatient and frustrated. It's also where our hidden doubts find their voice. Where most beginnings start with energy and expectation for all that is ahead, and endings bring the joy of completion as you arrive at your desired destination, the middle is different. This midpoint can too quickly become a low point, as energy is lacking and enthusiasm wanes. Yet how well you handle the middle reveals what is in the “middle” of you. The disciples found—in the middle of a lake—a revelation of Jesus that they had never seen on the shore. In the middle is where new navigational skills are found. It's also where some of the most significant lessons are learned. In Miracle in the Middle, you’ll learn how to: Candidly face the realities of life’s frustrations and respond to them biblically Persist in your efforts in your marriage, family, career, and ministry Navigate burnout during life’s valleys Gain eternal perspective on temporary situations Find strength in the struggle, passion to persist, wisdom in weariness, and joy for the journey.

Download or read book Six Discourses on the Miracles of Our Saviour and Defences of His Discourses written by Thomas Woolston and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-07-20 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The discourses written in this book were penned by Thomas Woolston, an English theologian who died in prison after being convicted for the views that he authored here. The book begins with the first discourse: The Moderator between an Infidel and an Apostate. The infidel intended was Anthony Collins, who had maintained in his book alluded to that the New Testament is based on the Old, and that not the literal but only the allegorical sense of the prophecies can be quoted in proof of the Messiahship of Jesus; the apostate was the clergy who had forsaken the allegorical method of the fathers. Woolston denied absolutely the proof from miracles, called in question the fact of the resurrection of Christ and other miracles of the New Testament, and maintained that they must be interpreted allegorically, or as types of spiritual things.
Download or read book Miracles in the Trash written by Barbara Hendrix and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A mother's womb has become the most dangerous place in the world. Innocent life is not to be relegated to the trash cans of the world. In this musical, God wants to bring humanity back into the embrace of his divine love, a humanity that has boldly stepped onto the pathway of its annihilation, through the catalysts of abortion and homosexuality. Truth has the ability to change hearts and minds, and God is truth. A beautiful, unique life is to be cherished and cared for because it is the most precious of gifts from the creative heart of God. What if Mary had aborted Jesus, the Son of God? In this play, she does and is punished by God with a life that never ends. After Jesus is aborted and has resumed his heavenly state, he is torn between the love that he has for his mother and his Father, who seeks to have his mother tried in a court of law for the murder of his Son, and thus the Church of God. This play sets the stage for the unthinkable and unravels the answers to the controversial questions surrounding a woman's decision to abort her miracle, a gift from the love and very heart of God. Miracles in the Trash portrays abortion from God's perspective, and his boundless love for each individual life he has created, revealing that life begins in the heart and mind of God, and that he knows who we are before we are even conceived. Biblical references support that fact. If we believe that God is all-knowing, then it leads to only one conclusion, that he knew who we were before our mother even met our father.

Chronicling bureaucratic roadblocks, adventure-filled detours, and Christina Adams’s love-fueled determination, Camel Crazy explores why camels are cherished as family members and hailed as healers. Adams’s work uncovers studies of camel milk for possible treatment of autism, allergies, diabetes, and immune dysfunction, as well as ancient traditions of healing. This moving and rollicking ode to “camel people” and the creatures they adore reveals the ways camels touch lives around the world. Includes users’ and buyers’ guides to camel’s milk

Download or read book Prophecy and Reason written by Andrew Cooper Fix and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the second half of the seventeenth century the entire intellectual framework of educated Europe underwent a radical transformation. A secularized view of humanity and nature was replacing faith in the direct operation of God's will in the temporal world, while a growing confidence in human reason and the Scientific Revolution turned back the epistemological skepticism spawned by the Reformation. By focusing on the Dutch Collegiants, a radical Protestant group that flourished in Holland from 1620 to 1690, Andrew Fix explicates the mechanisms at work in this crucial intellectual transition from traditional to modern European worldview. Starting from Rijnsburg, near Leiden, the Collegiants spread over the course of the century to every major Dutch city. At the same time, their thinking evolved from a millenarian spiritualism influenced heavily by the sixteenth-century Radical Reformation to a philosophical rationalism similar to the ideas of Spinoza. Fix has taken on an important topic in the history of ideas: the circumstances under which natural reason came to be accepted as an autonomous source of truth for the individual conscience. He also has fresh and concrete things to say about the relationship between religion and science in early modern European history. Originally published in 1990. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press.
