Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Moving, funny devotions crafted for every day by moms who know the drill When women take on the role of mom, they take on a hundred other titles as well: healer, comforter, chef, teacher, cheerleader—and less flattering things like disciplinarian, ruiner of fun times, and chief worrier. In the middle of juggling all those roles, finding room to spend time alone seeking God can seem insurmountable. Moms Michelle Medlock Adams and Bethany Jett understand the struggles—and the joys. They've pulled together their own experiences with the crazy world of parenting as well as the most requested, most talked about topics on mommy blogs. Their research nailed down what moms really want to talk about. And then they created a devotional that speaks straight to the heart of the mommy life. They Call Me Mom is a lighthearted, transparent take on the real-life ups and downs mothers face through all stages of parenting. Whether mom just brought home her first baby or she has several kids and zero time, she'll find relatable words and helpful encouragement in these pages. And with one devotion for every week of the year, it's easy to fit in a few minutes with God in the middle of a full parenting life.

Download or read book While You Played I Ran written by Sejla Grahovic and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-03-05 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I became aware at an early age about the war and what it is and what could happen to us if we stayed home when the South army came. Soon, we found ourselves running away from our house, with bullets fl ying above our heads, and ending up in a refugee camp. From then on, things got complicated and very hard to deal with. Because of Bill Clinton, who was the president of United States at that time, I ended up in America on March 30, 1998, and started a new beginning and a new chapter of my life in a different way. He gave us a chance to live another life and gave us a chance to become something/someone in life, and I will always be thankful to him for bailing me out of that misery.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The story you are about to read is not the complete story about my beloved parents and our family for I believe such an accomplishment is impossible. Most of the information was derived mostly from pure memory since no other means were available; i.e., notes, documents, recordings, or sufficient shared information. Also, it does not include each and every incident that I remember, and it is not intended to be a whole profile of their personalities and all their personal habits, which I deem unimportant for the purpose of my story, here and now.

Download or read book My Senior Year written by Michael Fitzgibbons and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2000-12-20 with total page 582 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hey! I’m John Sullivan, a recent high school graduate who collected his thoughts and dreams and hopes and fears and all kinds of other stuff in a year-long diary through his senior year. When I finished on graduation day, I realized I had quite a collection, as a matter of fact, I had more than 400 pages! So I thought about it and realized that it had a beginning, a middle, and an end, so therefore it told a complete story, which I think might be a book if I remember my sophomore literature class correctly. I am NOT saying it is literature (ha-ha), but I do think it is a book. That is where you come in. I don’t think it is much of a book if I’m the only one who reads it. It is just a diary then, that will remain on the floppy disk in my computer desk in my bedroom. Instead, you could read it. And tell me what you think. And then I will know if I should have left it in that computer desk. Or not. If you do read it, you’ll find that I didn’t leave anything out, even the stuff that might embarrass me. I could even still get into some trouble about some of it, but I think I’m ok because I don’t think my parents will want to read it because they were there for almost all of it, so it would be a rerun for them. I don’t think reruns are bad, but they already lived through this once, so they probably don’t want to get all upset allover again. So, go ahead and click away. It was an adventure for me – come on along for the ride! John Sullivan is right. This is quite an undertaking for a senior in high school. But that is what it is – a diary, a coming of age novel, a satire, and, incredibly, a love story. It is a unique look at one of the most important developmental periods in a person’s life.

She was so close to her goal, appearing at festivals and gaining attention for her short films, when grief came and shattered Diana’s directorial dreams. Forced to move to the suburbs with her sister and kids, the closest thing Diana gets to the movies these days is dressing the stars of them at her high-end department store job. Until one day, she gets a pity invite to a gala full of Hollywood’s most elite, where she unwittingly attracts the attention of a famous action star. The unexpected pairing shocks their friends–and the tabloids–forcing Diana to choose between the status quo and the silver screen.
