Book Morinus System of Horoscope Interpretation

Download or read book Morinus System of Horoscope Interpretation written by Jean Baptiste Morin and published by American Federation of Astr. This book was released on 2008-06 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an English translation of Book 21 of the Astrologia Gallica, in which Morin sets forth his method of horoscope interpretation. In the first section of the book he reviews the methods of other astrologers and explains why they are insufficient. In the second section he explains his own method, which is both different from and superior to the traditional methods. Morin was a physician who became the most renowned of all French astrologers. He was appointed Royal Mathematician to King Louis XIII and was summoned to be present at the birth of the royal heir, the future King Louis XIV. His master work, the Astrologia Gallica, was published in Paris in 1661. It consists of a Preface and 26 individual books in the scholarly Latin of the 17th century. Many of these Books are now available in English translation, but Book 21 should be read first as it contains the fundamental explanation of the Morin method. Richard S. Baldwin made this English translation directly from the Latin text.

It begins with examples of the fundamental principles and steadily advances to the full techniques. Each principle and technique is illustrated with examples. Each of the book's sections focuses on a specific factor of horoscope interpretation. The Morin Method is a practical and useful set of rules that results in accurate chart interpretation. Familiarity with the Astrologia Gallica, the works of John-Baptiste Morin, although desirable, is unnecessary in order to use the Morin Method of Horoscope Interpretation. Section I covers planetary powers, including theory of determinations, houses, signs, planets, essential dignities and debilities, natural and acquired analogy, and analogy of the planets with the houses. Section II explains the cosmic state of the planets in relationship with the houses. Topics covered are benefic and malefic planets, dispositors, peregrine planets, determination through house position and rulership, cause and effect, conjunctions, and determining combination by analogy. Section III discusses the Morin Method regarding determination by actual location, empty house judgment, affairs signified by the houses, determination and evaluation of the effect of a planet in a house, the houses of life and death, and the power of aspects. The book concludes with numerous charts for study. "To my knowledge this book is the best available instruction manual for the Morin Method."-James Herschel Holden, translator of eleven books of the Astrologia Gallica series by John-Baptiste Morin

Book excerpt: Step into the world of astrology with "House Systems and Derivative Houses in Astrology," a comprehensive guide designed for both novice and experienced astrologers. The houses in astrology represent different spheres of life, from career and relationships to personal growth and spirituality. This book provides a thorough exploration of how each house influences various aspects of an individual's life and how planets positioned within these houses interact to form a complete picture of one's destiny and personality. "Derivative Houses" also introduces the technique of deriving or turning houses, offering a method to address specific questions by counting houses from a given starting point. This approach allows for detailed insights into particular concerns, such as the financial status of a spouse or the health of a parent. The book covers various house systems, including Placidus, Equal, Whole Sign, and Koch, explaining how different systems can alter the interpretation of a birth chart. This section is essential for understanding the interconnectedness of life areas and for customizing astrological readings to suit individual preferences and needs. Each chapter is meticulously crafted to provide clarity and depth, making complex astrological concepts accessible. From the first house, which defines personality and self-image, to the twelfth house, which deals with hidden matters and subconscious patterns, "House Systems and Derivative Houses in Astrology" is your ultimate guide to mastering the art of birth chart interpretation. Book Astrologia Gallica Book 22

Download or read book Astrologia Gallica Book 22 written by Jean-Baptiste Morin and published by American Federation of Astr. This book was released on 1994 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an English translation of Morin's treatise on Primary Directions, which constitutes Book 22 of his Astrologia Gallica, with appendices containing supplementary material relating to Book 22, and addenda containing fundamental astrological principles, in particular the Table of Universal Rulerships of the Planets from Book 13, the Universal Laws of Judgments of Solar and Lunar Returns from Book 23, and Aphorisms stating the Principal Laws of Transits along with Rules for the Prediction of Future Events from Book 24. This translation supplements Richard S. Baldwin's translation of Book 21 on Determinations (also published by the AFA). The two translations together provide a core subset of the theory of Natal Astrology set forth by J-B Morin (1583-1656), the leading figure of French astrology. Morin's theory is based upon the use of determinations and accidental significators. Thus, it differs radically from the common theory that largely ignores derived houses and uses universal significators. Also, it is event-oriented rather than esoteric or psychological. The translator, James Herschel Holden, is Research Director of the American Federation of Astrologers and has been especially interested in the history of astrology.

Book Annual Predictive Techniques of the Greek Arabic and Indian Astrologers

Download or read book Annual Predictive Techniques of the Greek Arabic and Indian Astrologers written by Martin Gansten and published by The Wessex Astrologer. This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Predictions for each year of life go back to the earliest times of Hellenistic astrology. Elaborated by Persian and Arabic astrologers who emphasized the revolution of the nativity, known today as the solar return chart, annual predictive techniques then spread eastward into India and westward into Latin Europe during the Middle Ages. For the first time, this book draws together material on annual predictions from ancient and medieval authors writing in Greek, Arabic and Sanskrit, demonstrating their methods with a wealth of present-day example charts. While covering historical background and principles of interpretation, Annual Predictive Techniques is above all a manual of practical astrology, a guide to concrete prediction intended for intermediate students. Separate chapters are devoted to illustrating the use of primary directions and profections together with anniversary transits. The reader is then shown how to integrate these techniques step by step with the solar return chart. The final chapter discusses ways of subdividing a year and identifying times of major importance.
