Book Monk and Little Monk s Jungle Adventure

Download or read book Monk and Little Monk s Jungle Adventure written by Julie Bill and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-03-20 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Monk and Little Monk's Jungle Adventure Deep down in the jungle lived two of the sweetest, kindest, liveliest little monkeys ever! They were also brothers. Monk was the older of the two, with Little Monk being just a couple of years younger. They were also very smart little monkeys that loved their momma so much. The two brothers always listened carefully to their momma and always did exactly what she taught them to do, except for that one dreadful day when they were supposed to be going to school. This is where they made the biggest mistake of their lives. A mistake that almost changed their lives forever. Their plan to have fun and seek new adventures sorely backfired. It all began that Friday morning... "Hey, let's skip school and go on an adventure!" "Oh! That sounds like so much fun," said Little Monk. "Do you think we'll get in trouble?" "No," said Monk, "Shh, we won't tell anyone, and we will be back by this afternoon, right on time, and momma will never know the difference!" "Okay," said Little Monk. "If you think it's okay, let's go!" "Come on! It will be a blast!" said Monk. Pretty exciting right? Well, before we give too much of the story away, we can't forget about the wonderful cast of jungle critters they meet along the way which became the boys' lifelong friends including a big gray elephant, a teeny tiny giraffe, a beautiful parrot, and last but not least a very handsome Bengal tiger. These are the new friends that they make along the way that stayed with them through the good times and bad and helped them survive and conquer the dangers of the jungle. You won't be able to put this book down, wondering what will happen next as the boys come face-to-face with the dangers and the predators that lurked in the jungle that day.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dhargey was a sickly child or so his parents treated him. His only hope for his future was to explain to the head of the local monastery why he should be accepted into the order and with a lightened program, but to do so, he was forced to accompany the revered old man a little ways up the mountain. As his parents watched him leave; somewhere they felt that they would never see their sickly, fragile boy ever again, somewhere they were totally right. He was a happy, healthy seven year old until he witnessed the riders, dressed in red and black, destroying his village and murdering his parents; the trauma cut deep into his psyche. Only the chance meeting with a wandering monk could set him back onto the road towards health and serenity. Through meditation, initiations, stories, taming wild horses, becoming a monkey, mastering the staff and the sword; the future ‘Young Master’ prepares to face his greatest demon. Two men, two journeys, one goal. A beautiful and thought-provoking book, rich in poetry and insight. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Burmese Looking Glass is a contribution to the literature of human rights and to the literature of high adventure.” —Los Angeles Times Book Review As captivating as the most thrilling novel, Burmese Looking Glass tells the story of tribal peoples who, though ravaged by malaria and weakened by poverty, are unforgettably brave. Author Edith T. Mirante first crossed illegally from Thailand into Burma in 1983. There she discovered the hidden conflict that has despoiled the country since the close of World War II. She met commandos and refugees and learned firsthand the machinations of Golden Triangle narcotics trafficking. Mirante was the first Westerner to march with the rebels from the fabled Three Pagodas Pass to the Andaman Sea. She taught karate to women soldiers, was ritually tattooed by a Shan sayah “spirit doctor,” lobbied successfully against US government donation of Agent Orange chemicals to the dictatorship, and was deported from Thailand in 1988. “A dramatic but caring book in which Mirante’s blithe tone doesn’t disguise her earnest concern for the worsening conditions faced by the Burmese hill tribes.” —Kirkus Reviews
