I can hardly h0pe to succeed in doing so; but I may perhaps contrive to furnish such an outline of Meinong's ways of thinking as may be serviceable to those who have not as yet made acquaintance with his writings. Of their importance no one who is familiar with them can be in doubt; they are important as profound in quiries into the most fundamental of philosophical questions they are important no less as illustrating the method by which philosophic truth is won.
