Book Feasibility of Producing Dispersion Strengthened Chromium by Ball milling in Hydrogen Halides

Download or read book Feasibility of Producing Dispersion Strengthened Chromium by Ball milling in Hydrogen Halides written by Alan Arias and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chromium, with and without 4 volume percent thoria, and nickel powders were ground to fine powder sizes by ball-milling in gaseous hydrogen halides. After reducing the milled chromium in flowing hydrogen under pulsating pressure at about 680 deg C submicron-size powders with 4 to 500 ppm residual halogens were obtained. The compacted chromium-thoria alloys had interparticle spacings ranging from 2. 1 to 6. 5 micrometers. After 100 hours at 1318 deg C the interparticle spacing of the 2. 1-micrometer alloy increased to 5.2 micrometers. Submicron-size chromium and nickel powders were also obtained by pulsating hydrogen reduction of their chlorides.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presents a thorough overview of perovskite research, written by leaders in the field of photovoltaics The use of perovskite-structured materials to produce high-efficiency solar cells is a subject of growing interest for academic researchers and industry professionals alike. Due to their excellent light absorption, longevity, and charge-carrier properties, perovskite solar cells show great promise as a low-cost, industry-scalable alternative to conventional photovoltaic cells. Perovskite Solar Cells: Materials, Processes, and Devices provides an up-to-date overview of the current state of perovskite solar cell research. Addressing the key areas in the rapidly growing field, this comprehensive volume covers novel materials, advanced theory, modelling and simulation, device physics, new processes, and the critical issue of solar cell stability. Contributions by an international panel of researchers highlight both the opportunities and challenges related to perovskite solar cells while offering detailed insights on topics such as the photon recycling processes, interfacial properties, and charge transfer principles of perovskite-based devices. Examines new compositions, hole and electron transport materials, lead-free materials, and 2D and 3D materials Covers interface modelling techniques, methods for modelling in two and three dimensions, and developments beyond Shockley-Queisser Theory Discusses new fabrication processes such as slot-die coating, roll processing, and vacuum sublimation Describes the device physics of perovskite solar cells, including recombination kinetics and optical absorption Explores innovative approaches to increase the light conversion efficiency of photovoltaic cells Perovskite Solar Cells: Materials, Processes, and Devices is essential reading for all those in the photovoltaic community, including materials scientists, surface physicists, surface chemists, solid state physicists, solid state chemists, and electrical engineers.

Book Chemical Metallurgy

Download or read book Chemical Metallurgy written by J.J. Moore and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemical Metallurgy, Second Edition provides the fundamental chemical principles and demonstrates the application of these principles to process metallurgy, materials synthesis and processing, and corrosion protection. The book consists of nine chapters. The first five chapters emphasize the fundamental chemical principles involved in metallurgical reactions. An additional chapter on slag chemistry has also been added in this second edition in order to provide a more thorough understanding of slag-metal reactions. The final three chapters focus on the applications of the chemical principles to the extraction and refining of metals, metal melting and recycling, and metallic corrosion. The book will be of value to materials students and teachers and scientists and engineers entering employment in the metallurgical and materials processing and metal finishing industries.

Book Progress in Catalysis Research

Download or read book Progress in Catalysis Research written by Lawrence P. Bevy and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2005 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Catalysis is a chemical or biological process whereby the presence of an external compound, a catalyst, serves as an agent to cause a chemical reaction to occur or to improve reaction performance without altering the external compound. Catalysis is a very important process from an industrial point of view since the production of most industrially important chemicals involve catalysis. Research into catalysis is a major field in applied science, and involves many fields of chemistry and physics. The new book brings together leading research in this vibrant field.

Book Heteronuclear Metal Metal Bonds

Download or read book Heteronuclear Metal Metal Bonds written by R.D. Adams and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2004-09-16 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The number of organometallic compounds containing heteronuclear metal-metal bonds has grown tremendously in the last ten years. Also known as cluster compounds, these compounds have been found to exhibit a rich diversity of molecular structures and reactivities. Descriptions of the structures and transformations of the complexes are central features. Separate chapters have been prepared for compounds containing bonds between transition metals and the metals of the copper and zinc subgroups. Unlike COMC, this volume contains an entire chapter devoted to studies of heteronuclear metal compounds in catalysis.
