The institution they created placed organs throughout the United States and only saw its end with the outbreak of World War II. This reference volume, rich with previously undiscovered source material, presents a historical synopsis of the family business. Also included is the opus list of Pilcher organs, arranged both chronologically and by region, and published here for the first time. A vital source for Pilcher organ historians and admirers, this volume offers useful data for anyone seeking historical background or information on specific Pilcher organs.

Book Texas Rules of Evidence Manual Ninth Edition

Download or read book Texas Rules of Evidence Manual Ninth Edition written by David A. Schlueter and published by Juris Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2012-07-01 with total page 1204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Texas Rules of Evidence Manual - Ninth Edition provides an updated comprehensive reference to Texas evidence for both civil and criminal cases. The book provides a rule-by-rule analysis of each Rule of Evidence. This sturdy hard-cover text is designed for heavy use in the courtroom. This text helps those who are bound to use the Texas Rules of Evidence, whether it is the bench or the bar or those studying evidence. While the text contains some academic discussions, the book is designed to explain what a particular Rule requires or prohibits, to indicate what the appellate courts have said about the Rules, and to offer some practical pointers on using the Rules. The book itself has been designed to make it as useful as possible to the harried judge, counsel, and student who must quickly find the "law." Following each Rule is an editorial commentary on the Rule explaining how the Rule works, what the Texas courts have said about the Rule, and how it compares with the Federal Rule, because Texas courts often review federal precedent where they find it helpful in applying a Texas Rule. When appropriate, practical pointers are also provided on how to use the Rule. Where the Rules apply in the same fashion for both civil and criminal cases, those points are discussed together. On the other hand, where they diverge, the authors have used separate headings for "Civil" and "Criminal" when that seems appropriate. One of the objectives of the Editorial Analysis in this text is to deal with the interrelationships of the various Rules. The authors have noted those areas where the Rules differ from pre-Rules case law or statutory provisions. Some of the Rules changed the prior Texas evidence law and, althoughmany of the Texas Rules agree with the Federal Rules, a number differ significantly.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published in 1971, Georgia's Last Frontier presents the history of one of the state's least developed regions. During the 1830s, Carroll County was a large part of Georgia's most rugged frontier. James C. Bonner examines how life in this isolated region was complicated by the presence of Native Americans, cattle rustlers, and horse thieves. He details how the discovery of gold in the Villa Rica area resulted in drunkenness and violence, but also laid the foundations of mining technology that were later used in Colorado and California. The region remained isolated until after the Civil War, when a rail line was constructed to stimulate cotton cultivation. With the development of the railway, Carroll County's frontier traditions waned in the early twentieth century.

  • Publisher : Energion Publications
  • Release : 2020-11-11
  • ISBN : 1631995081
  • Pages : 140 pages

Download or read book The Seven written by Lonnie Davis Wesley, III and published by Energion Publications. This book was released on 2020-11-11 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know what it means to be a deacon? Is this office in the church still relevant today? Dr. Lonnie Davis Wesley believes that deacons have an important role to play, but that church traditions and failures in leadership and education have often made deacons ineffective, or given them tasks to which they are not called and for which they are not equipped. He goes back to the first deacons, chosen and set apart in Acts 6, for a model for the ministry of deacons in the modern church. In doing so, he finds that we need to re-learn and re-apply the lessons of scripture and history so that the church can be fully effective in ministry. The Seven: Taking a Closer Look at What It Means to Be a Deacon is a comprehensive guide to reforming and recharging your church’s deacon ministry. It includes guides to help you develop an education program to prepare deacons for ministry, and to aid your congregation in supporting that ministry. This book may be read by individuals, but it will find its greatest use as a tool for building a strong deacon ministry in any congregation.
