Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This segment of the beginning of Ma'atic Balance: The Law of Unity of Opposites demonstrates throughout each chapter the composer's dexterous ability to be in sync and command of his acute intellectual quality of intuition. A phenomenal craftiness of a unique, dramatic, and poetic style of harmony and balance that is based solely on how our souls, or that spirit mind (consciousness), is in accord or synchronized with our equilibrium, which is a state of balance between two opposing forces, powers, or influences that's correlative to one another, and neither one cannot function as a whole without the other. Or, for example, physics—Sir Albert Einstein's two-part theory that mass and energy are equivalent, that space and time are relative concepts, and that gravitational and inertial forces are equivalent. I think Mr. Stein called it relativity! Yeah. Re-la-ti-vi-ty. A new sense of acuteness cannot be attained without its essence being provoked to intercede through meditation, relaxation, and uttermost erudition of phenomenal intuition that's beyond normal sensory perception or contact; which is said and understood as the unification (or whole) of the self with the supreme being. An unfortunate event; and heavy-hearted disconcerted conditions propelled evincible. Shiny emerald – trimmed gold! Showcasing ma'atic balance.

Download or read book Schooling Hip Hop written by Marc Lamont Hill and published by Teachers College Press. This book was released on 2015-04-26 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together veteran and emerging scholars from a variety of fields to chart new territory for hip-hop based education. Looking beyond rap music and the English language arts classroom, innovative chapters unpack the theory and practice of hip-hop based education in science, social studies, college composition, teacher education, and other fields. Authors consider not only the curricular aspects of hip-hop but also how its deeper aesthetics such as improvisational freestyling and competitive battling can shape teaching and learning in both secondary and higher education classrooms. Schooling Hip-Hop will spark new and creative uses of hip-hop culture in a variety of educational settings. Contributors: Jacqueline Celemencki, Christopher Emdin, H. Bernard Hall, Decoteau J. Irby, Bronwen Low, Derek Pardue, James Braxton Peterson, David Stovall, Eloise Tan, and Joycelyn A. Wilson “Hip hop has come of age on the broader social and cultural scene. However, it is still in its infancy in the academy and school classrooms. Hill and Petchauer have assembled a powerful group of scholars who provide elegantly theoretical and practically significant ways to consider hip hop as an important pedagogical strategy. This volume is a wonderful reminder that ‘Stakes is high!’” —Gloria Ladson-Billings, Kellner Family Chair in Urban Education, University of Wisconsin–Madison “This book is a bold, ambitious attempt to chart new intellectual, theoretical, and pedagogical directions for Hip-Hop Based Education. Hill and Petchauer are to be commended for pushing the envelope and stepping up to the challenge of taking HHBE to the next level.” —Geneva Smitherman, University Distinguished Professor Emerita, English and African American and African Studies, Michigan State University

Download or read book Africana Studies written by Molefi Kete Asante and published by Washington State University Press. This book was released on 2021-09-24 with total page 601 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The systematic study of the Africana/Black experience emerged in universities in the USA in the late 1960s. As an outgrowth of the Civil Rights and Black Conscious movements, demonstrations occurred on campuses nationwide, giving birth to the new academic discipline. Written by emerging and established scholars and published in the Western Journal of Black Studies over a span of three decades beginning in 1977, the 27 essays included in Africana Studies provide an evolutionary trajectory of the discipline, including theoretical, ideological, and methodological perspectives and paradigms. The primary focus is the African American experience with emphasis on how theoretical and methodological approaches have changed over time as the discipline matured. Topics include pre-colonial literacy and scholarship in West Africa, Black Nationalism, intellectual foundations of racism, and the ideology of European dominance. Articles also address African American personality development, gender relationships, self-identity, masculinity, crime, blueprints for economic development, and digitalization of the discipline. This fundamental collection challenges assumptions, misconceptions, and negative stereotypes within the behavioral sciences, social sciences, and liberal arts fields, and portrays the strength, resilience, and diversity of African and African American peoples.
