Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: LET'S ALL PRAISE: AS IT IS IN HEAVEN is a 10-lesson, Bible curriculum, consisting of a set of four books (1) Curriculum Lessons, (2) Music, Movement, and Colors, (3) Bonus Narrative, and (4) Praise With Music, that teaches all participants (children through adults) how to praise God with music, and that praise music is both a spiritual tool for building God's Kingdom and a warfare weapon for tearing down evil strongholds (Psalm 8:2, NIV; Matthew 21:15-16, NKJV). This Book 3 is for those who love to watch the background bonus materials included in DVD movie sets. In God's reality, behind each of the 10 curriculum lessons in Book 1 is a bottomless, incomprehensible wealth of spirituality, history, science, music, art, and beauty. However, this Book 3 narrative is only a bare-bones summary to explain some background information. And it is an attempted glimpse of the wonderful music realm and glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Book Plato s Proto Narratology

Download or read book Plato s Proto Narratology written by Vasileios Liotsakis and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-09-18 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Plato’s contribution to narratology has traditionally been traced in his tripartite categorisation of narrative modes we read of in the Republic. Although other aspects of storytelling are also addressed throughout the Platonic oeuvre, such passages are treated as instantaneous flares of metanarrative speculation on Plato’s part and do not seem to contribute to the reconstruction of his ‘theory of narrative’. Vasileios Liotsakis challenges this view and argues that the Statesman, the Timaeus/Critias and the Laws reveal that Plato had consolidated in his mind and compositionally put into effect one systematic mode in which to express his thoughts on narratives. In these dialogues Liotsakis recognizes the birth of a proto-narratology which differs in many respects from what we today expect from a narratological handbook, but still demonstrates two key-features of narratology: (a) a conscious focus on certain aspects of narrativity which are vastly discussed by narratologists and pertain to the structuring and reception of narratives; and (b) a schematised mode of interaction between metanarrative reflections and textual bodies which serve as the paradigms through which to explore the interpretive potential of these reflections.

Book excerpt: “Scripture frequently sums up a man’s life in a single sentence.” – Charles Spurgeon Inspired by the great preacher Charles Spurgeon, Warren Wiersbe launched a personal study of the lives of prominent Bible characters. Interested in more than biographical facts, Wiersbe sought out the themes of each person’s life as reflected in the pages of Scripture. How does the Bible summarize this person’s life? What is the key to understanding his or her character? How do I see my own life reflected in the life of this person? The Defining Verse takes you into the lives of sixty-three Biblical men and women who encountered an extraordinary God. For each, Wiersbe identifies a Scripture verse that sums up that individual’s life and then reflects on the lessons to be learned, both positive and negative. Now including a personal study for personal self-reflection, you will not only be challenged by these examples, you will be stimulated to consider what your “life sentence” will be. Previously released under the title Life Sentences.
