Le premier volume contient les réponses des comités catholiques de neuf pays à un questionnaire envoyé en vue d'établir une comparaison synoptique de la situation des demandeurs d'asile dans ces différents pays. Il porte, entre autres choses, sur le nombre annuel d'entrées des demandeurs d'asile, sur le pourcentage des demandes acceptées et rejetées, sur les procédures d'accueil et leurs disparités, sur la situation juridique et sociale du réfugié pendant la procédure pour l'obtention du droit d'asile, sur les réglementations du droit au travail, sur les possibilités de regroupement de famille, sur les relations entre la population autochtone et les demandeurs d'asile, ainsi que sur l'activité de l'Eglise catholique et des organisations ecclésiastiques, et sur les possibilités d'apporter une amélioration à la situation actuelle. Les pays concernés par ce questionnaire sont : la République fédérale d'Allemagne, l'Autriche, la France, l'Italie, le Portugal, la Suisse, la Belgique, et les Pays-Bas. Le deuxième volume fournit une synthèse des rapports nationaux et conclut sur la situation du demandeur d'asile aussi bien avant la décision de l'octroi de l'asile - où le permis de travail, l'aide sociale, le logement, l'assistance d'orientation et d'intégration sont mis en cause - qu'après la décision, et sur les réponses apportées par l'Eglise dans ces différents pays. Trois exposés prononcés par le président du CCMIE, du directeur adjoint de la protection internationale du HCR, et de la direction des affaires juridiques du Conseil de l'Europe précèdent les rapports des groupes de travail germanophone, francophone et mixte qui appellent à une amélioration de la coopération internationale et de l'action de l'Eglise. Le discours final prononcé par le président du CCMIE suggère que le Conseil de l'Europe, le Parlement européen et la Commission des communautés européennes réfléchissent ensemble à l'élaboration d'une charte du réfugié en Europe pour garantir à ce dernier une meilleure protection, et propose que chaque membre du CCMIE établisse un rapport mettant en évidence la situation du réfugié et soulignant l'importance de leur fournir un accueil convenable.

The most common strategy for addressing this kind of transgression relies on policing and prisons. But through examining commonly accepted typologies of high-risk intimate partner violence, Ardath Whynacht shows that policing can be understood as part of the same root problem as the violence it seeks to mend and provides an abolitionist frame for the most dangerous forms of intimate partner violence. This book illustrates that the origins of both the carceral state and toxic masculinity are situated in settler colonialism and racial capitalism and sees police homicide and domestic homicide as akin. Describing an experience of domestic homicide in her community and providing a deeply personal analysis of some of the most recent cases of homicide in Canada, the author inhabits the complexity of seeking abolitionist justice. Insurgent Love traces the major risk factors for domestic homicide within the structures of racial capitalism and suggests transformative, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, feminist approaches for safety, prevention and justice.
