Textes et commentaires suivent notre littérature depuis ses origines lointaines, jusqu’à l’aube de la Renaissance. En somme, malgré sa dominante linguistique, cet ouvrage polyvalent doit aider chacun de ses lecteurs à pratiquer de façon approfondie le type d’étude (littérature, langue ou histoire) correspondant à ses choix personnels ou à l’examen qu’il prépare, mais il doit aussi l’aider à élargir en même temps ses perspectives vers des méthodes et des domaines différents, qui se rencontrent autour d’un thème unique : le Moyen Âge français.
