In Anlehnung an das Langenscheidt Großwörterbuch Deutsch als Fremdsprache (GWB) wurde ein kompaktes Taschenwörterbuch Langenscheidt Taschenwörterbuch Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TWB) neu entwickelt. Als Taschenwörterbuch hat es nicht nur den Vorteil durch entsprechende Größe und Gewicht handlicher zu sein, es leistet sich auch den Luxus einer größeren Schrift, wodurch das Buch im Zusammenspiel mit den blau hervorgehobenen Lemmata sehr übersichtlich wirkt. Das Wörterbuch zeichnet sich durch eine klare, verständliche Gliederung der Seiten, aber auch Artikel aus, die das Auffinden der Stichwörter und deren Angaben sehr einfach macht. Daumenlisten und blaue Kolumnentitel erleichtern den schnellen Zugriff auf gesuchte Stichworte. Ob es hinsichtlich Informativität und Benutzerfreundlichkeit, Textproduktion, Textrezeption und als Lernunterstützung1 für die Lerner der Fremd sprache Deutsch geeignet ist, soll anhand ausgewählter Kriterien, nämlich anhand der Kollokationen und Komposita im TWB geprüft werden. Die Herausgeber des Taschenwörterbuchs Deutsch als Fremdsprache verstehen ihr Wörterbuch als ein „Lernerwörterbuch, das gezielt auf die Bedürfnisse all derjenigen zugeschnitten ist, die zum ersten Mal mit einem einsprachig deutschen Wörterbuch umgehen“(Vorwort). Einsprachige Wörterbücher, wie das Vorliegende, werden von Fremdsprachenlernern in der Regel erst dann benutzt, wenn die benötigten Informationen über die Angaben in einem zweisprachigen Wörterbuch hinausgehen.(Barz 1995: 13) Das ist meist dann der Fall, wenn im Zuge der Textproduktion oder Textrezeption Auskünfte über Stichwörter und ihre syntagmatische und paradigmatische Einordnung gewünscht werden. Ob die Herausgeber diesen Anspruch erfüllen können, wird an oben genannten Kriterien untersucht werden. Das Taschenwörterbuch von Langenscheidt gleicht mit seinen circa 27 500 Stichwörtern dem Umfang nach fast einem „normalen“ Wörterbuch Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Wie von vielen Sprachwissenschaftlern erläutert (Barz 1995: 14; Kempcke 1996: 116), führt eine so umfassende Makrostruktur unwillkürlich zu einer Einschränkung in der Mikrostruktur. Meist wird zu Ungunsten der syntagmatischen Einordnung des Lemmas in sein sprachliches Umfeld drastisch gekürzt. [...]
