Download or read book Organizational Culture and Climate New Perspectives and Challenges written by Thais Gonzalez Torres and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-02-08 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within the framework of organizational behavior and organizational psychology, organizational climate and culture conceptualize how employees experience their work settings. Thus, organizational climate refers to the shared perceptions and meaning attributed to policies, practices, and procedures experienced by employees and the behaviors they observe that are rewarded, supported, and expected. On the other hand, organizational culture may be defined as the collection of values, expectations, and practices that guide and inform the actions of all team members. Climate offers an approach to the tangibles on which managers can focus to generate the behaviors they require for effectiveness, and culture offers the intangibles that likely accrue to produce the deeper psychology of people in a setting. These two concepts complement each other and can be mutually useful in practice.

Download or read book The Cambridge Handbook of the Global Work Family Interface written by Kristen M. Shockley and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2018-04-26 with total page 1081 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Cambridge Handbook of the Global Work-Family Interface is a response to growing interest in understanding how people manage their work and family lives across the globe. Given global and regional differences in cultural values, economies, and policies and practices, research on work-family management is not always easily transportable to different contexts. Researchers have begun to acknowledge this, conducting research in various national settings, but the literature lacks a comprehensive source that aims to synthesize the state of knowledge, theoretical progression, and identification of the most compelling future research ideas within field. The Cambridge Handbook of the Global Work-Family Interface aims to fill this gap by providing a single source where readers can find not only information about the general state of global work-family research, but also comprehensive reviews of region-specific research. It will be of value to researchers, graduate students, and practitioners of applied and organizational psychology, management, and family studies.

Download or read book Ethical Business Cultures in Emerging Markets written by Douglas Jondle and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Previous research on corporate cultures and ethical business cultures has focused almost exclusively on studies of multinational corporations from a handful of developed countries. This book addresses the intersection of human resource development and human resource management with ethical business cultures in the four BRIC countries, and four other fast-growing emerging economies: those of Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa and Turkey. Drawing on longitudinal large-scale survey-based studies, it compares managers' and employees' perceptions of ethical business cultures in these countries, contrasting them with the US economy. It then discusses the economic and socio-cultural context and current research on business ethics in each of these countries, including implications for research and practice. This significant study will appeal to scholars, researchers and students in business ethics, management, human resource management and development, and organization studies, and addresses issues faced daily by business executives and practitioners working in emerging market countries.

The present Research Topic brings together 30 studies by 76 authors who analyzed the relevance of consumer behavior changes under this new paradigm, using different theoretical and methodological frameworks. These different papers, mainly constituting original research, examine a variety of sub-topics, including online and mobile environments, value co-creation, internal marketing strategies, and diverse industries and product markets. Given this broad selection of papers, we encourage readers to draw their own conclusions about the complex phenomena of consumer behavior.
