Book The assistant manager of football

Download or read book The assistant manager of football written by Denis Silva Puig and published by Wanceulen Editorial S.L.. This book was released on 2020-04-15 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The assistant manager has existed for decades, and is a standard figure within the coaching staff, with specific roles, functions and responsibilities. However, I find it strange that nobody has yet described this profession formally. I used to only be a team manager, until one day I was proposed to be the assistant manager of U18 team of FC Barcelona. That is when I started thinking about writing this book, moved by my desire to continue learning. If I wanted to train in my new role I could only do it by asking others and observing training sessions. But I was missing one of the pillars that has forever supported my training: studying and reading. With this book I hope to cover that lack of information. The book is divided into two parts: the first is based on describing the assistant manager in professional football and I have not found a more practical way to do it than through interviews with assistant managers. Each interviewee has contributed his experiences from working with the most recognized football team managers: I am talking about people who have worked with Vicente del Bosque, Ernesto Valverde, Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino, Sergio González, Quique Sánchez Flores, and Paulo Sousa. The second part of the book is related to Youth football, which I have experienced in clubs like Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona. I propose the role of the assistant manager working in Youth football to be more formative and educational than what is currently given, and I want to direct their effort towards two dimensions: the team's sporting performance (which the vast majority do) and the individualized analysis of the young player (which very few do). This second dimension is described in the last chapter, to demonstrate a new vision of assistants in Youth football, who in my view have to dedicate their time to improving the players as an athlete and as a person in a more personalized and integral way.

Book Spain of Fernando de Rojas

    Book Details:
  • Author : Stephen Gilman
  • Publisher : Princeton University Press
  • Release : 2015-03-08
  • ISBN : 1400872553
  • Pages : 576 pages

Download or read book Spain of Fernando de Rojas written by Stephen Gilman and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-03-08 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a major piece of historical detective work. Stephen Gilman's "La Celestina" and the Spain of Fernando de Rojas adds a new dimension to critical studies of the fifteenth-century masterpiece. Using the text of La Celestina as well as public and private archives in Spain, Mr. Oilman builds up a vivid sense of the man behind the dialogue and establishes Fernando de Rojas indisputably as its author—a figure whom critics, while ranking his novel second only to Don Quixote, have treated as semi-anonymous or non-existent. We cannot really know what the Celestina is, says Mr. Oilman, without speculating as rigorously and as learnedly as possible both on how it came to be and on how it could come to be. Thus he reconstructs the world of Rojas, country lawyer and converso, the social, religious, and intellectual milieu of Salamanca, of Spain during the Inquisition, of the converted Jew. He makes it possible for us to see the author—the law student writing feverishly during a fortnight's vacation from classes—in the context of his own times and thus to understand Rojas' achievement: his unconventionality; his sardonic judgment of the Spain in which he lived; the explosive originality, in fact, of La Celestina. Originally published in 1972. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. Book Liver Metabolism and Fatty Liver Disease

Download or read book Liver Metabolism and Fatty Liver Disease written by Oren Tirosh and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-08-27 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is one of the most common liver diseases worldwide affecting patients from all ages, races, and ethnic backgrounds. It comprises a spectrum of hepatic pathology ranging from simple steatosis, in which there is an increase of fat accumulation in hepatocytes, to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and cirrhosis. The significant prevalence of this disease—between 15 and 45 percent of the general population—means that it contributes to an increased burden of ill health both today and in the future. Liver Metabolism and Fatty Liver Disease addresses the current understanding of the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease as well as the clinical aspects of the disease by examining the current knowledge surrounding metabolism in the liver. The book discusses various topics including the involvement of oxidative stress, metabolic effects, and inflammation as well as the effect of nutrition on the development and progression of the disease.

  • Author : Juhyun Lee
  • Publisher : CRC Press
  • Release : 2021-02-25
  • ISBN : 1000020924
  • Pages : 250 pages

Download or read book Modern Mechanobiology written by Juhyun Lee and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-02-25 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern mechanobiology converges both engineering and medicine to address personalized medicine. This book is built on the previously well-received edition, Hemodynamics and Mechanobiology of Endothelium. The central theme is "omic" approaches to mechanosignal transduction underlying tissue development, injury, and repair. A cadre of investigators has contributed to the chapters, enriching the interface between mechanobiology and precision medicine for personalized diagnosis and intervention. The book begins with the fundamental basis of vascular disease in response to hemodynamic shear stress and then details cardiovascular development and regeneration, valvular and cardiac morphogenesis, mechanosensitive microRNA and histone unfolding, computational fluid dynamics, and light-sheet imaging. This edition represents a paradigm shift from traditional biomechanics and signal transduction to transgenic models, including novel zebrafish and chick embryos, and targets a wider readership from academia to industry and government agencies in the field of mechanobiology.
