Book The Good Shepherd and the Child

Download or read book The Good Shepherd and the Child written by Sofia Cavalletti and published by Liturgy Training Publications. This book was released on 2021-05-15 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anyone familiar with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd has probably encountered the early description of this approach to the religious formation of the child in The Good Shepherd and the Child: A Joyful Journey. With major contributions by Sofia Cavalletti, Gianna Gobbi, Silvana Montanaro, and Patricia Coulter, this book has long been a “core text’ for catechists and also for parents of children in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Now there is a new edition, which reflects the changes in the presentations and the materials that Sofia Cavalletti made in the years before her death in August 2011. The original contributions of the authors are retained in Part I. In Part II, long time catechist and one of the first US catechists to study with Sofia Cavalletti, Rebekah Rojcewicz, has carefully outlined the current methods and developments in the work. This includes a selection of the key parables and scripture texts that are presented to the children. She also offers a new Introduction in which she describes the process by which the original authors and founders of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd came to recognize the child’s potential for a relationship with God and learned what nurtures that experience. The original art work by Julie Coulter-English is retained in this new edition.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life's lessons in a spiritual manner. Dealt with, lived by, and trust in God. The scriptures are for everyday people with everyday problems. This book is to encourage, enlighten, and ensure us that God is able to do all things. In some of this journey, you will find that some of life's circumstances hit us in different ways. I want to encourage everyone that no one is exempt from trials and tribulations, but everyone is entitled to the goodness of God. This book will help anyone that reads it to study harder, love more, and depend on our Lord and Savior for everything. Special note: It will also help you remember, as a friend once told me, "It's all good, and it's all God." Finally, brethren, "whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Philippians 4:8). Think on these things. Blessings and miracles to all who open this book.

Download or read book Evangelizing Our Children with Joy written by Mary Cooney and published by Scepter Publishers. This book was released on 2017-01-01 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Our children are destined for greatness, each and every one of them. But let us not confuse fame with greatness. All of our children, whether they lead ordinary or extraordinary lives, are called to exemplary virtue, generous sacrifice, courageous heroism, and above all, deep, enduring love. They are called to be saints.” These words of Mary Cooney are the driving force behind her book Evangelizing Our Children with Joy. With an energizing zeal and drive, Mary shares with us the wisdom that has come from the highs and lows of parenthood, intermingled with the inspiration she has received through prayer and the Bible. From the virtues of mercy, kindness, and patience—virtues abundantly needed in the family setting—to the riches of the sacramental life, Mary shows us how to teach our children that the path to living an extraordinary life leads through the ordinary actions and habits of everyday living. Mary Cooney, wife and mother, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. With a degree in Music Education and a master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy, she has been teaching children for over twenty years. Her most delightful students are her own five, lively homeschooled children. She currently lives in Maryland.

Book Listening to Children on the Spiritual Journey

Download or read book Listening to Children on the Spiritual Journey written by Catherine Stonehouse and published by Baker Academic. This book was released on 2010-06-01 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do children experience and understand God? How can adults help children grow their life of faith? Throughout more than a decade of field research, children's spirituality experts Catherine Stonehouse and Scottie May listened to children talk about their relationships with God, observed children and their parents in learning and worship settings, and interviewed adults about their childhood faith experiences. This accessibly written book weaves together their findings to offer a glimpse of the spiritual responsiveness and potential of children. Through case studies, it provides insight into children's perceptions of God and how they process their faith. In addition, the book suggests how parents, teachers, and ministry leaders can more effectively relate to and work with children and pre-adolescents to nurture their faith, offering a helpful picture of adults and children on the spiritual journey together.
