Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alan has been a pastor for more than 35 years. He is more than a preacher he is a wonderful story teller. He can make the stories of the Bible come alive by filling in the sights, sounds and smells that are happening all around the people. It is his goal to get people to read the Bible using the imagination God gave each of us as they read. He says, "There is so much to read in every Bible story and so much missed when we don't image everything going on behind the scenes. What did the people look like? How were they dressed? What was their tone of voice? Who was there? All of these are important to the story." The portrait of the cover is one of Alan's favorite Renaissance paintings, It was painted by Matthias Strom of Stromer (1600-1652). He was a Dutch or perhaps a Flemish painter who lived for a time in Italy. For Alan, it is where Tell Me the Story- A Christmas Imaging begins. Enjoy Brent is a recent graduate from Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. When creating the illustrations for this story, Brent's goal was to use his artwork as a simple guide to let the reader's imagination interpret and create the story. The use of simple lines with dynamic shading is a technique Brent developed in his early years, and it is still apparent in his artwork today. Brent currently does freelance work as an illustrator and graphic artist.

Book Once Upon a Time Traveler

Download or read book Once Upon a Time Traveler written by Joshua Light and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-11-11 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three brilliant scientists harness the power to fold time and visit the past and future like a common tourist. One scientist formulates a tour of Biblical events because he believes in God, but the tour is reluctantly and accidentally traveled by a scientist who does not. What will unbelieving eyes see, and how will they interpret the most significant supernatural events of all time? The tour embraces world history from the beginning of creation and into the future, where Biblical prophecy tells us that dangerous people will control the whole world, countless millions of people will evaporate, and society will plunge into darkness. What if a time traveler visited just two years into the future after the Biblical Prophetic clock has already started ticking? And then catapulted into the past, where Earth is like another planet entirely? What kind of world, and what kind of tribulation would he find? And as an unbeliever, how would he respond to it? Light deals with the issues of Biblical prophecy, recent young-earth creation, a literal and startling twist on how things were, and how things will be. Set aside the notions of being left behind, and embrace the idea of being brought along, in the circuits of Earth’s end-to-end timeline. Enter a future we’d rather forget, and a history that nobody remembers.

Download or read book The Travelers written by Joseph Lima Sconce and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2013-07-25 with total page 662 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main theme of my book is that the afterlife is real and substantial and that all of us, when we arrive there at some point, will soon realize this. Our spiritual bodies are very much like our natural bodies, except that the spiritual bodies are in perfect shape. Life in the afterlife is, at least superficially, very much like life on Earth. People in the spiritual world live in real places: beautiful cities or country locations in heaven, and noisome slums in hell. People there work as they do on Earthwillingly and joyously in heaven, not so in hell. They also enjoy time off from work, which is marvelous in heaven and, within strict limits, somewhat enjoyable in Hell. We are full human beings in the afterlife, up to and including that dreaded word for most religionssex. But in the spiritual world, time and space function differently, being fluid and connected to our thoughts and emotions; deception is nearly impossible, and the economy is a moneyless one.

Book The Christmas Time Travelers 1

Download or read book The Christmas Time Travelers 1 written by L. M. Haynes and published by Christmas Time Travelers. This book was released on 2022-03-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Christmas Time Travelers by L. M. Haynes is a very original and fascinating Christmas story - one which is definitely a unique twist on the First Christmas for kids growing up, especially if they are dog lovers! In this tale, an inventor builds a time machine in which he decides to do a test on Christmas Eve. So, once he readies the machine and sets the automatic return timer for eight hours, he gets distracted by Christmas Carolers at his front door. Before he realizes it, his three dogs have run into the time machine and the gadget's door closed behind them - then, poof...the machine disappears. Realizing what has happened, the professor is saddened to have lost his three loved dogs, and his time machine. The next part of the book tells the story from the time-traveling dog's perspective, as they come across the Nativity scene of Jesus Christ being born. The dogs witness, first hand, the miracle of that evening. After a few hours, the trio of K-9s find a comfortable spot in the barn, and nestle down in some hay and drift off to sleep. Lily, one of the dogs, gets a little restless and decides to explore the barn while the others sleep. Lily brushes up against the blue blanket used to wrap the baby Jesus in his crib, and a piece of the blanket gets caught in Lily's collar. The professor realizes the timer was set for eight hours, and as that time is approaching, he sits in a chair to await the return of his time machine. Sure enough, at the right moment, the time machine reappears and the dogs are within; healthy, happy, and glad to return to their home. Only this time, there is a piece of the blue blanket still attached to Lily's collar as physical evidence of the dogs' journey to the First Christmas, and back. The illustrations by the author bring together the story with a visual theme making it an ideal bedtime story to be read to youngsters, especially during the holidays. Having the physical evidence of the blanket reinforces the faith of the professor, yet as the moral of the story says each of us needs to find our own evidence of our faith.

The plays can be easily adapted for use by groups of any size -- lines are easy to memorize, and performance time for each is approximately 20 minutes. Bartholomew, The Clueless Shepherd blends the wonder of the nativity story, a young boy's ambition, and a gentle dose of humor into a winning presentation. It tells the touching story of a shepherd boy who initially fails to notice the amazing things happening around him in Bethlehem. But with his father's guidance, Bartholomew gradually becomes aware of the miracle of Christmas and responds to God's eternal love. The Animals? Christmas Pageant recounts the events in the manger from the point of view of the animals -- and do they have personalities with attitude! Perfect for use with middle school or junior high youth, this play has six speaking and several non-speaking roles.

Book They Said I Wouldn t Make It

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They Said I Wouldn't Make It. This is a book that needs to be read by all. It is full of everyday life situation. A book about one man's dreams and strggles to get custody of his ten siblings and reunite his family together again. This book is a pure inspiration to millions. I was always challenged by people that said that they were normal, telling me that I wouldn't make it in life because of how I was born. Not only is this book written from my heart, but it is also written through my pain and tears, triumphs and victories. It is my desire that kids that are born handicap would have the understanding that no on can make you handicap, if you chose not to be that handicap is a state of one's mind. It is my desire that the department of Social Services will remove the name 'foster' from kids. There is no such thing as a false child, all kids are real. For those that are single parents, I hope that you receive new strength. You can make it, don't give up. For the parents that have kids that were born handicap, if you want them normal, don't raise them handicap. For you that have lost your family through the system, don't give up, miracles still happen. For those of you that had been through sexual, physical, psychological, or any other abuse you can be healed. Many people's childhoods destroyed their adulthoods. For you this does not have to be so. Remember a quitter never wins, and a winner never quits. Last, those who say they can and those wh say they can not, are both correct.

Download or read book Joseph s Dilemma written by Matthew J. Marohl and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The story of the birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew is told in eight verses. Embedded in this short narrative is "Joseph's dilemma." Listeners are told that, "When Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit" (1:18). What happens next has long been debated. We are made to assume that Joseph discovers that Mary is pregnant, but that he does not know that she is with child from the Holy Spirit. This information is made known to Joseph later by an angel of the Lord who appeared to him in a dream. In the meantime, Joseph must decide what he will do with Mary. We are told, "Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly" (1:19). The discussion of this verse generally focuses on two questions. First, did Joseph suspect Mary of adultery? Second, if he did suspect Mary of adultery, what were his options? While there is some diversity in the way that these questions are answered, the majority of modern interpreters envision only one option--that of divorce. The dilemma, then, is whether Joseph will divorce Mary "publicly" or "privately." While these questions are important, neither adequately addresses Joseph's dilemma. In this book, Matthew J. Marohl argues that early Christ-followers understood Joseph's dilemma to involve an assumption of adultery and the subsequent possibility of the killing of Mary. Worded differently, Joseph's dilemma involves the possibility of an honor killing. If Joseph reveals that Mary is pregnant she will be killed. If Joseph conceals Mary's pregnancy, he will be opposing the law of the Lord. What is a "righteous" man to do?
