Their son, John Harper (1705-1785) was born at Linnwady, Parish of Newton, County Derry, Ieland. He married Abigail Montgomery in 1728 at Hopkinton, Massachusetts. They had eleven children, 1729-1749. Their son, Capt. Alexander Harper (1744-1798) ,was born at Middletown, Connecticut. He migrated to Delaware County, New York in 1770 and founded the town of Harpersfield. He married Elizabeth Bartholmew (1749-1832) in 1771. They had eight children, 1772-1791. The family migrated to Ashtabula County, Ohio, in 1798 and founded Harpersfield Township. He died there that year. Descendants listed lived in Ohio and elsewhere.
