Book On Fuzziness

Download or read book On Fuzziness written by Rudolf Seising and published by Springer. This book was released on 2012-12-15 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The notion of Fuzziness stands as one of the really new concepts that have recently enriched the world of Science. Science grows not only through technical and formal advances on one side and useful applications on the other side, but also as consequence of the introduction and assimilation of new concepts in its corpus. These, in turn, produce new developments and applications. And this is what Fuzziness, one of the few new concepts arisen in the XX Century, has been doing so far. This book aims at paying homage to Professor Lotfi A. Zadeh, the “father of fuzzy logic” and also at giving credit to his exceptional work and personality. In a way, this is reflected in the variety of contributions collected in the book. In some of them the authors chose to speak of personal meetings with Lotfi; in others, they discussed how certain papers of Zadeh were able to open for them a new research horizon. Some contributions documented results obtained from the author/s after taking inspiration from a particular idea of Zadeh, thus implicitly acknowledging him. Finally, there are contributions of several “third generation fuzzysists or softies” who were firstly led into the world of Fuzziness by a disciple of Lotfi Zadeh, who, following his example, took care of opening for them a new road in science. Rudolf Seising is Adjoint Researcher at the European Centre for Soft Computing in Mieres, Asturias (Spain). Enric Trillas and Claudio Moraga are Emeritus Researchers at the European Centre for Soft Computing, Mieres, Asturias (Spain). Settimo Termini is Professor of Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Palermo, Italy and Affiliated Researcher at the European Centre for Soft Computing, Mieres, Asturias (Spain)

Book Fuzzy Logic

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jenny Carter
  • Publisher : Springer Nature
  • Release : 2021-05-04
  • ISBN : 3030664740
  • Pages : 269 pages

Download or read book Fuzzy Logic written by Jenny Carter and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-05-04 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since its inception, fuzzy logic has attracted an incredible amount of interest, and this interest continues to grow at an exponential rate. As such, scientists, researchers, educators and practitioners of fuzzy logic continue to expand on the applicability of what and how fuzzy can be utilised in the real-world. In this book, the authors present key application areas where fuzzy has had significant success. The chapters cover a plethora of application domains, proving credence to the versatility and robustness of a fuzzy approach. A better understanding of fuzzy will ultimately allow for a better appreciation of fuzzy. This book provides the reader with a varied range of examples to illustrate what fuzzy logic can be capable of and how it can be applied. The text will be ideal for individuals new to the notion of fuzzy, as well as for early career academics who wish to further expand on their knowledge of fuzzy applications. The book is also suitable as a supporting text for advanced undergraduate and graduate-level modules on fuzzy logic, soft computing, and applications of AI.

This book was released on 2015-06-12 with total page 612 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents recent advances on the design of intelligent systems based on fuzzy logic, neural networks and nature-inspired optimization and their application in areas such as, intelligent control and robotics, pattern recognition, time series prediction and optimization of complex problems. The book is organized in eight main parts, which contain a group of papers around a similar subject. The first part consists of papers with the main theme of theoretical aspects of fuzzy logic, which basically consists of papers that propose new concepts and algorithms based on fuzzy systems. The second part contains papers with the main theme of neural networks theory, which are basically papers dealing with new concepts and algorithms in neural networks. The third part contains papers describing applications of neural networks in diverse areas, such as time series prediction and pattern recognition. The fourth part contains papers describing new nature-inspired optimization algorithms. The fifth part presents diverse applications of nature-inspired optimization algorithms. The sixth part contains papers describing new optimization algorithms. The seventh part contains papers describing applications of fuzzy logic in diverse areas, such as time series prediction and pattern recognition. Finally, the eighth part contains papers that present enhancements to meta-heuristics based on fuzzy logic techniques.

Book Uncertain Rule Based Fuzzy Systems

Download or read book Uncertain Rule Based Fuzzy Systems written by Jerry M. Mendel and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-17 with total page 701 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of this textbook provides a fully updated approach to fuzzy sets and systems that can model uncertainty — i.e., “type-2” fuzzy sets and systems. The author demonstrates how to overcome the limitations of classical fuzzy sets and systems, enabling a wide range of applications from time-series forecasting to knowledge mining to control. In this new edition, a bottom-up approach is presented that begins by introducing classical (type-1) fuzzy sets and systems, and then explains how they can be modified to handle uncertainty. The author covers fuzzy rule-based systems – from type-1 to interval type-2 to general type-2 – in one volume. For hands-on experience, the book provides information on accessing MatLab and Java software to complement the content. The book features a full suite of classroom material.

Book Fuzzy Logic Tools Reference manual v1 0

Download or read book Fuzzy Logic Tools Reference manual v1 0 written by Antonio Javier Barragán Piña and published by A. Javier Barragán Piña. This book was released on 2012 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This manual documents the use of Fuzzy Logic Tools (FLT), a C++ framework for storage, analysis and design of fully general multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control systems, without constraints in the order of either the inputs or the output vectors. This reference manual is intended as a reference work for those developers wishing to use the tools provided by the FLT. Therefore, the text is structured following the typical pattern of reference manuals. Firstly, a general description of the variables, functions, classes, methods and attributes included in the software is presented. Then each of these items is studied in depth. Finally, some examples of using the FLT are included. These functions can be used for the analysis and design of TS-type fuzzy control. With the intention of making our work available to the entire scientific community, FLT is licensed under GPLv3, so you can use it freely if it meets the requirements of such license (see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html). With the same intention, this document is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License, approved for Free Cultural Works initiative. This work is in continuous evolution and improvement. If you are interested can stay informed of new versions, bugs, and other information about the project at http://uhu.es/antonio.barragan/flt
