Rosendahl, Ph.D., Inc, (PHRI), conducted an intensive archaeological survey of the Waikane Valley fence corridor project area, situated in the land of Waikane, Koolaupoko District, Island of Oahu (TMK:4-8-14-6). The survey was conducted as part of the overall fencing/warning signs and demolition work for FY87 MCON Project P-106, land acquisition, Waikane, Camp H. M. Smith, Oahu, Hawaii being prepared by Belt Collins & Associates (contract no. N627428-87-C-0082). The overall objective of the survey was to provide information appropriate to and sufficient for compliance with applicable federal historic preservation statuses. During the survey, five new features of one previously identified sites (total sites: three containing seven components features) were identified. No surface portable remains or cultural deposits were identified. The newly identified sites consist of single features and are probably historic. The previously identified site is the Waikane Taro Flats, a prehistoric site of which only a portion is within the project area" -- Page ii.
