Book Spillover and Mobility of Species on Solid Surfaces

Download or read book Spillover and Mobility of Species on Solid Surfaces written by A. Guerrero-Ruiz and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-08-02 with total page 501 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Spillover and Mobility of Species and Solid Surfaces" collects the papers which were presented at the Fifth International Conference Spillover, either as oral or poster contributions, as well as the summaries of the invited lectures. This congress and its publication in the Studies on Surface Science and Catalysis series follow the tradition of previous conferences on spillover, initiated in Lyon, 1983, and continued in Leipzig, 1989, Kyoto 1993 and Dalian, 1997. For the fifth conference, held in S.L. el Escorial (Madrid), the organising committee has attempted to compile representative contributions which illustrate the advances in understanding the spillover phenomenon since 1997. Spillover is a process taking place during the interface of gas reactant molecules (mainly hydrogen and oxygen) on solid surfaces. However, different contributions to the more general area of the chemistry at surfaces, related with the mobility and migration of species, diffusion through membranes, fuel cell catalysts, etc., have also been included. In fact the title of the present volume summarizes this attempt to extend the conference topics towards dynamics at surfaces.Among the 70 contributions received, the 56 accepted papers were selected on the basis of the reports of at least two international reviewers, according to standards comparable to those applied for other specialised journals. These papers are from 21 different countries.

Book Multiscale and Innovative Kinetic Approaches in Heterogeneous Catalysis

Download or read book Multiscale and Innovative Kinetic Approaches in Heterogeneous Catalysis written by Pascal Granger and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-07-11 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kinetics and reactor modeling for heterogeneous catalytic reactions are prominent tools for investigating and understanding catalyst functionalities at nanoscale and the related rates of complex reaction networks. This book illustrates some examples related to the transformation of simple to more complex feedstocks, including different types of reactor designs, i.e., steady-state, transient plug flow reactors, and TAP reactors for which there is sometimes a strong gap in the operating conditions from ultra-high-vacuum to high-pressure conditions. In conjunction, new methodologies have emerged, giving rise to more robust microkinetics models. As exemplified, they include the kinetics and the dynamics of the reactors and span a large range of length and time scales. The objective of this Special Issue is to provide contributions that can illustrate recent advances and novel methodologies for elucidating the kinetics of heterogeneous reactions and the necessary multiscale approach for optimizing the reactor design. This book is dedicated to postgraduate and scientific researchers, and experts in heterogeneous catalysis. It may also serve as a source of original information for the elaboration of lessons on catalysis for Master students.

Book An Infrared Study of the Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide Over Supported Rhodium Catalysts

Download or read book An Infrared Study of the Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide Over Supported Rhodium Catalysts written by C. H. Dai and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reaction of carbon monoxide and oxygen over supported rhodium films has been studied using infrared spectroscopy. The focus of work was the reactivity of the various CO/Rh/X (X=Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2) surface states for supported catalysts having high and low Rh loading. Under the reaction conditions the 'linear CO' species was the most stable toward oxidation, but this could have been a result of an oxidized Rh surface. A new CO/Rh surface species has been proposed which exhibits an infrared band at 2000/cm for a 0.5% Rh/TiO2 film. This species is believed to be a bridged carbonyl between Rh+1 and the TiO2 support. Originator-supplied keywords include: Infrared spectroscopy, and Carbon dioxide.

Book Handbook Of Advanced Methods And Processes In Oxidation Catalysis From Laboratory To Industry

Download or read book Handbook Of Advanced Methods And Processes In Oxidation Catalysis From Laboratory To Industry written by Daniel Duprez and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2014-07-24 with total page 1035 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a comprehensive overview of the most recent developments in both total oxidation and combustion and also in selective oxidation. For each topic, fundamental aspects are paralleled with industrial applications. The book covers oxidation catalysis, one of the major areas of industrial chemistry, outlining recent achievements, current challenges and future opportunities. One distinguishing feature of the book is the selection of arguments which are emblematic of current trends in the chemical industry, such as miniaturization, use of alternative, greener oxidants, and innovative systems for pollutant abatement. Topics outlined are described in terms of both catalyst and reaction chemistry, and also reactor and process technology.
