Book Applied Research on High Resolution Camera Tubes

Download or read book Applied Research on High Resolution Camera Tubes written by S. Grey and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Image orthicons with structured targets were tested using a new cycled test set which separates the functions of exposure and read-out by a selected time interval. Resolution of image orthicons, when cycled in a manner corresponding to slow scan read-out, has exceeded 50 percent sine-wave response at 500 TV lines/inch. Possible means of increasing resolution toward the contract objective of 1500 TV lines/inch are discussed. Electron gun resolution, measured at high velocity, was nearly doubled during the year. Improvement was achieved by smoothing the mixed carbonate cathode coating. The procedures used to process targets are explained in detail. (Author).

Book The Optical Transfer Function of Imaging Systems

Download or read book The Optical Transfer Function of Imaging Systems written by Thomas Williams and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-04 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Optical Transfer Function of Imaging Systems deals extensively with the theoretical concept of the optical transfer function (OTF), its measurement, and application to imaging devices. The OTF is a mathematical entity describing how well the subject is transferred into an image via the lens. The book focuses on the practical aspects of using and measuring the OTF. It presents the background physics necessary to understand and assess the performance of the great proliferation of electro-optical systems, including image intensifiers, video cameras, and thermal imagers. Assuming a senior undergraduate level of optics knowledge, the book is suitable for graduate courses in optics, electro-optics, and photographic science. In addition, it is a practical guide for systems designers who require a means of assessing and specifying the performance of imaging systems. It is also of interest to physicists and engineers working in all areas of imaging.

Book Clinical Endocrinology and Diagnostic Imaging

Download or read book Clinical Endocrinology and Diagnostic Imaging written by Jana Brunová and published by Karolinum Press. This book was released on 2014-06-01 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph is based on the authors’ extensive experience in the areas of clinical endocrinology and diagnostic imaging, their clinical and research work and insight gained from teaching medical students and doctors in the Czech Republic and abroad. The chapters contain embryological and anatomical notes, clinical characteristics of individual endocrinopathies, laboratory and function tests, including reference values, indications and algorithms of imaging methods and principles of rational modern therapy of individual pathologies, including further clinical monitoring of patients. Texts also give practical advice regarding how to approach patients with endocrine gland diseases, point out some potential misinterpretations of examination results and are supplemented with numerous images of pathological states, which are almost exclusively sourced from the authors’ private archives. The chapter on diabetes mellitus centres on the complications of diagnosing diabetes and on the mutual relation between diabetes and other endocrinopathies. Focusing primarily on clinical practice, the work does not elaborate on pathophysiology, but covers only the most recent pertinent literature from the discipline. What makes this comprehensible publication exceptional is the fact that it not only presents the clinical view of the endocrinologist on the various covered subjects, but the reader is also given the opportunity to learn about current diagnostic trends using imaging methods. This interdisciplinary view offers the reader a comprehensive insight into the field and the necessary knowledge for their clinical practice. This monograph is intended for medical students, junior endocrinologists, diabetologists, radiologists and general practitioners interested in endocrinology, however, it can be useful also for doctors preparing for medical postgraduate certification in endocrinology and imaging methods as it undoubtedly provides valuable information.
