This book was released on 2012 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During these years, humanity is perhaps, living through the most dangerous period of all its history. The main cause of present tension and disorder is the lack of co-ordination between modern science and a spirit of humanism. These two factors should be seen as complementary to each other and whenever a proper co-ordination is kept between them, life become more pleasurable at the individual and social levels.Propagation of humanism is thus the remedy for the present crisis and also the promise for a bright future. But we are living in a period when humanism is regarded, if at all, as one of the lesser virtues. There were a handful of men who were deeply committed to humanism. Jawaharlal Nehru was one such personality. He regarded humanism as his God and service of mankind as his religion. As a humanist, he affirmed full faith in man and his socialist, secularist, democratic ideas, his passion for science & technology and his idea of peaceful co-existence among nations cannot be understood save in the context of his deep belief in man and in dignity of human existence. The present work is an attempt to bring about this humanistic implications found in the life and thought of Neh

Book The Political Philosophy of Jawaharlal Nehru

Download or read book The Political Philosophy of Jawaharlal Nehru written by M.N. Das and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1961, The Political Philosophy of Jawaharlal Nehru is an attempt to coordinate Jawaharlal Nehru’s ideas which, in essence, reflect his political philosophy. Nehru distinguished himself as a philosopher-politician, thinking somewhat as a philosopher while working as a politician, steering his political ideas between idealism and realism. In an eventful life, his had been the many-sided role of a revolutionary and a nationalist, a democrat and a socialist, an internationalist and a pacifist, a head of the government and, above all, a lone individual and thinker. Nehru preserved his individuality through all external influences, including those of Gandhi and Marx, and it is this which remains the keynote of his thought. It has been the aim of the author to present in an objective way the ideas of the man in the light of his own words as available from a wide range of material. This book will be of interest to students of history, political science, and philosophy.

Book The Humanistic Philosophy of Gandhi

Download or read book The Humanistic Philosophy of Gandhi written by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Singh and published by K.K. Publications. This book was released on 2022-01-22 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Humanistic Philosophy of Gandhi Gandhi’s great contribution to humanism consists in conceiving a religion that centres almost wholly around man and his life here in this world. Religion, according to him, should pervade all our activities, it cannot and ought not to be pursued in seclusion from one’s fellow beings and in separation from life’s other activities. The equivalent for Religion is “Dharma” in Sanskrit which means moral obligation and connotes individual’s integrity as well as social solidarity. Gandhi understood religion completely from that point of view. His Humanism is integral, discussing all the aspects of human life and has rationalist attitudes that differ from Romantic Humanism as well as Radical Humanism and yet synthesizes the two. Gandhian philosophy is not only simultaneously political, moral and religious, it is also traditional and modern, simple and complex. It embodies numerous Western influences to which Gandhi was exposed, but being rooted in ancient Indian culture and harnessing eternal and universal moral and religious principles, there is much in it that is not at all new. This is why Gandhi could say: “I have nothing new to teach the world. Truth and nonviolence are as old as the hills.” Gandhi is concerned even more with the spirit than with the form. If the spirit is consistent with truth and nonviolence, the truthful and nonviolent form will automatically result. Despite its anti-Westernism, many hold its outlook to be ultra-modern, in fact ahead of its time - even far ahead. Perhaps the philosophy is best seen as a harmonious blend of the traditional and modern. The multifaceted nature of Gandhi’s thought also can easily lead to the view that it is extremely complex. The book is intended to assist students and teachers who are interested in knowing about Gandhian Philosophy. Contents: • Gandhian Ideas in Philosophy • World and God • Swaraj • Relevance of Gandhi in the Political World Today • Gandhian Philosophy in the 21 Century • The Essence of Gandhi • Is Gandhi Relevant Today • Immortality of Gandhian Philosophy • Rediscovering the Mahatma’s Way • Gandhi’s Dialogue on Civilization

Book Architect of A Philosophy

Download or read book Architect of A Philosophy written by Dr. Preeti Trivedi and published by Bhartiya Sahitya Inc.. This book was released on 2017-12-01 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deendayal Upadhyaya was the rare combination of an activist, a thinker philosopher and an ideologue. The concept of 'Integral Humanism' propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya embodies the essence of human unity and development. The entire political history of Post Independence period needs to be properly recorded. Whenever such a history is written it would further raise the contribution of Deendayal Upadhyaya. What makes us proud as an Indian is Pt Deendayal's philosophy of Ekatma Manavwad or integral humanism and the same is evident in his political, social and cultural ideology. As a political ideologue he had firm belief in the slogan of Janasangh- Ek Desh Me Do Vidhan - Nahi Chalega Ek Desh Me Do Pradhan - Nahi Chalega Ek Desh Me Do Nishan - Nahi Chalega He advocated unitary form of government which envisages one centre but he always favoured decentralisation to the lowest unit of administration. His idea of infinite spiral unitary State put centre at the top and province, Janapad, Block, Village and Panchayat below it. Similarly distribution of financial powers should be such that the lowest tier of administration, viz. village Panchayat must have some autonomy.
