Book excerpt: Downcast, Dejected—even the Dead—find themselves in the wake of Jesus’ love. Just who exactly did Jesus love? Author Jessica Thompson intimately engages the gospel narratives and helps the reader explore who and how Jesus loves. What does Jesus have to say to the Doubter or the Denier? How does he address the Discouraged, the Fearful, or the Outcast? Have you ever felt Forgotten or Faint-hearted? Ever needed Spiritual or Physical healing? He Loved Them shows the interactions of Jesus with real people who have real needs, struggles, and pain. As we contemplate Jesus’ heart and actions toward the lost and brokenhearted characters in the Bible, we begin to know more fully how God feels toward us—we experience how Jesus comes alongside and loves us in our own doubt, fears, and need for healing. Thompson begins this journey with the humanity of Jesus. She explores Jesus’ relationship with the Father and with creation. She looks in depth at how He Loved Them and joins the biblical stories to how he loves you!

Book excerpt: There are three kinds of knowledge. The knowledge of the world, the knowledge of Scripture and the knowledge of God! The worthiest of these is the knowledge of God. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:8) Everything depends on this, including whether to gain eternal life or not (Joh. 17:3). I want to know God, not just simply to have the knowledge of Scripture. However, I didn’t really know God much although I was well versed in Scripture. I was always sorry and discontented about this. Then, recently, Bobby Conner, a world-renowned prophet, prophesied to me as follows. “You will continue to write many books. Next time, you will be writing a book about God’s glory and beauty. The revelation of God’s glory and beauty will be downloaded unto you. So, you will write about His glory and beauty.” [re-phrased] I’ve written over thirty books so far. However, a book dealing with the glory and beauty of God is a different matter. I had wanted to write a book on this subject from a long time ago. However, I couldn’t do so because I knew God only a little. So, when I was listening to the prophecy, I doubted, thinking ‘Will such a thing really happen? Will this be really possible?’ Then, on the week when I received the prophecy from Bobby Conner, I indeed learned many things about God. It got started as I read Roland Buck’s book, Angels on Assignment, and the knowledge of God came upon me throughout the time of Bobby Conner’s conferences. I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to preach and publish a book with this, repeatedly and very strongly. So, I have written a book which is this one. Thus, please read this book very carefully and make sure to digest it. Then, all of you, like me, will be transformed to ones who really love the Lord, from ones who desire to love the Lord.

Book The Christian Doctrine of God One Being Three Persons

Download or read book The Christian Doctrine of God One Being Three Persons written by Thomas F. Torrance and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2016-01-28 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written by one of the twentieth-century's foremost modern Trinitarian theologians The Christian Doctrine of God remains a classic ground work for scholars and students alike. In the book Thomas F. Torrance offers a detailed study of the most profound article of the Christian faith - the Holy Trinity. Torrance adopts a holistic approach when examining the inter-relatedness of the three persons - Father, son, and Holy Spirit - and their dynamic Communion with the Being and Nature of God. Combining immense academic range with his characteristically fresh theological perspectives, Torrance builds a significant theological bridge between ancient and modern, as well as between the Roman and Protestant theology; he engages deeply with the Church Fathers and discusses the ontological nature of God. Here Torrance conveys a simple message - the doctrine of the Trinity is the doctrine of God. This Cornerstones edition includes a new introduction written by Professor Paul D. Molnar, in which Molnar sets Torrance's classic work in its modern context and considers how it continues to influence the way we think about the Trinity today.

Book He Loved Me Through It All

Download or read book He Loved Me Through It All written by L. A. Davis and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is my testimony after reading this book in one setting: With intent, intensity and integrity LaCretia wrote this book and it is indeed a page turner. Even though I know at least seventy percent of her testimony because I was a personal witness to it and knew most of the family and friends that she graciously changed their names to protect; I honestly don't think they would want to be protected. I think that they would be as I am, so Godly proud of LaCretia for telling her story honestly, deeply, passionately, and beautifully. She is more than transparent in her sharing; completely exposed and tremendously truthful about her inner feelings and painful journey. She shares her vulnerabilities in such a way that you find yourself saying, "I should be so courageously honest about my own addictions." I want this book to get into the hands of women from all walks of life because I know somewhere between these lines they will find their "lonely, loveless, painful, hopeful, vulnerable, truthful, longing, and most of all they will like LaCretia come to know that God's love "without condemnation" is available to them as well. My prayer is that wherever each woman finds her state in life to be while reading this book, she will receive the message of unfailing love and receive the resolve to trust God with her pain and her plans. Great job LaCretia, and awesome pen. Get this book into the hands of women who need it NOW.

This unloved feeling, I have also witnessed, possesses the power to cause them to ponder the seemingly never-ending question: Does God love me? Like them, I too have wrestled with this frustrating question, which eventually manifested itself in many tangible ways that those closest to me found themselves engulfed by its fl ames. Maybe the side eff ects of this age-old question have tipped your life scale in the wrong direction, and those around you are feeling its eff ectsunloved by you. Like petals falling from a fl ower, we all grapple on the inside with this unavoidable question: Does God love me? We still pluck each imaginary petal, with each emotional stroke, saying . . . He loves me, He loves me not, He loves me.

Book He Loves Me He Loves Me Not

Download or read book He Loves Me He Loves Me Not written by Kathleen Palmer Terry and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I became the keeper of secrets, and there were consequences. With my silence I protected my children and allowed them to forever see their father as a hero, but I had also given my husband a clean slate upon which he could rewrite his history, minus the embarrassing part. At first, silence was the glue that bound us together, then it was the weight under which we crumbled." *** "Cheaters are selfish people. In fact, the most damning thing about cheating is that it reveals a lack of caring for and commitment to the whole family unit, not just one's spouse. 'I'm cheating because I care about my family so much more than my selfish desires,' said no person ever." *** Infidelity and the drama it creates have been around since the beginning of time. As a result, there is no shortage of advice on how to prevent it, what to do once it starts, or how to pick up the pieces once it ends . . . if it ends. Why do some marriages survive and others dissolve in the aftermath? Is there some magic ingredient present in enduring relationships? Is it possible to heal as individuals, yet fail to heal as a couple? In this deeply personal and intuitive book, one woman of faith tells her story of love, disillusionment, and resilience in a down-to-earth, upbeat, and sometimes humorous style that reflects the strength that comes from knowing God loves us, that he is in charge, and that he has the desire and ability to shape us into better people through our adversity. It will persuade you that, although we live in an age of throw-away marriages, there are still those who believe traditional values exist, that a family is a sacred commitment, that giving up is not an option.
