Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you breed dogs for any reason, you must own this book. Genetic diseases are among the most serious hazards on the landscape of modern dog breeding and one of the most vexing challenges facing today's dog breeders. Is it appropriate to open the gene pool to unwanted conditions in the pursuit of physical perfection, or must breeding to the Standard take a back seat to producing healthy animals? In Control of Canine Genetic Diseases, renowned authority George A. Padgett, DVM, provides an expert road map to help dog breeders everywhere avoid the pitfalls they are almost destined to encounter. For anyone whose goal is to produce healthy, functional and beautiful dogs, this is the book they need. Dr. Padgett provides clear explanations of modes of inheritance, how to conduct and analyze test matings and how to lower the chances of producing affected animals. Numerous tables, diagrams and graphs further enhance the text to facilitate the breeder's understanding. A Howell Dog Book of Distinction

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A working knowledge of inequalities can be beneficial to the practicing engineer, and inequalities are central to the definitions of all limiting processes, including differentiation and integration. When exact solutions are unavailable, inconvenient, or unnecessary, inequalities can be used to obtain error bounds for numerical approximation. They can also lead to an understanding of the qualitative behavior of solutions. This guide to inequalities was written specifically with engineers and other applied scientists in mind, and helps fill the gap between college algebra-level treatments, and the formidable treatise on the subject that exist in the mathematics literature. To consolidate the learning process, every chapter ends with a rich collection of exercises.

Download or read book Malaysia written by International Monetary Fund. Statistics Dept. and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2019-08-13 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This technical assistance report on Malaysia explains the effort by the mission to support the Malaysian authorities in improving Government Finance Statistics (GFS) decision making. The mission achieved significant progress with respect to the development of a budgetary central GFS compilation system based on primary accrual accounting data. The mission, together with the authorities, successfully developed a compilation sheet to facilitate the largely automated compilation of a comprehensive set of GFS tables from the system. With respect to flows reported in the income statement, the analysis suggests that it is essential to build the survey around the balancing items (net) operative income and (net) comprehensive income. The analysis of the corporate balance sheets suggests that most accounting terms used by the public corporations can be grouped sensibly and linked to GFS classifications. With respect to the extrabudgetary units of central government, the mission proposed minor refinements of the survey and prepared preliminary GFS data.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For introductory courses in Differential Equations. This text provides the conceptual development and geometric visualization of a modern differential equations course while maintaining the solid foundation of algebraic techniques that are still essential to science and engineering students. It reflects the new excitement in differential equations as the availability of technical computing environments likeMaple, Mathematica, and MATLAB reshape the role and applications of the discipline. New technology has motivated a shift in emphasis from traditional, manual methods to both qualitative and computer-based methods that render accessible a wider range of realistic applications. With this in mind, the text augments core skills with conceptual perspectives that students will need for the effective use of differential equations in their subsequent work and study.

Book Berkeley Lectures on p adic Geometry

Download or read book Berkeley Lectures on p adic Geometry written by Peter Scholze and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2020-05-26 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry presents an important breakthrough in arithmetic geometry. In 2014, leading mathematician Peter Scholze delivered a series of lectures at the University of California, Berkeley, on new ideas in the theory of p-adic geometry. Building on his discovery of perfectoid spaces, Scholze introduced the concept of “diamonds,” which are to perfectoid spaces what algebraic spaces are to schemes. The introduction of diamonds, along with the development of a mixed-characteristic shtuka, set the stage for a critical advance in the discipline. In this book, Peter Scholze and Jared Weinstein show that the moduli space of mixed-characteristic shtukas is a diamond, raising the possibility of using the cohomology of such spaces to attack the Langlands conjectures for a reductive group over a p-adic field. This book follows the informal style of the original Berkeley lectures, with one chapter per lecture. It explores p-adic and perfectoid spaces before laying out the newer theory of shtukas and their moduli spaces. Points of contact with other threads of the subject, including p-divisible groups, p-adic Hodge theory, and Rapoport-Zink spaces, are thoroughly explained. Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry will be a useful resource for students and scholars working in arithmetic geometry and number theory.

Book Introduction to Functional Differential Equations

Download or read book Introduction to Functional Differential Equations written by Jack K. Hale and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book builds upon an earlier work of J. Hale, "Theory of Func tional Differential Equations" published in 1977. We have tried to maintain the spirit of that book and have retained approximately one-third of the material intact. One major change was a complete new presentation of lin ear systems (Chapters 6~9) for retarded and neutral functional differential equations. The theory of dissipative systems (Chapter 4) and global at tractors was completely revamped as well as the invariant manifold theory (Chapter 10) near equilibrium points and periodic orbits. A more complete theory of neutral equations is presented (see Chapters 1, 2, 3, 9, and 10). Chapter 12 is completely new and contains a guide to active topics of re search. In the sections on supplementary remarks, we have included many references to recent literature, but, of course, not nearly all, because the subject is so extensive. Jack K. Hale Sjoerd M.
