Book No One to Call Me Mommy A Journey of Hope and Healing Through the Pain of Infertility

This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Girls grow up wanting to be mothers. From a very early age, we play and pretend with our dolls. In teenage years, we practice mothering skills while we babysit. Motherhood is one of the crowning glories of being a woman. But what if it doesn't happen for you? You never hear the words, "You're pregnant" or feel life inside of you, and infertility moves in. Infertility is a life-questioning event. It invades the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual being of a woman. Women who face it tend to crawl into a protective, isolative shell. No One to Call Me Mommy provides companionship, strength, and a voice to break through that isolation. It is not a book about infertility; it is a book about hope and healing through the journey.

Download or read book A Healing Journey written by Ron P. Pagel and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-03 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer." I cannot heal anyone, none of us can. I am His obedient instrument, His servant, His hands & feet ... Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit in me is the Healer, the Great Physician. I am not a theologian, but I am a willing student of the Book. There is little I can offer; no words or wisdom or experience, technique or method, none of my own very limited knowledge, no natural gifts ... beyond my humble heart to try to love His children as He does; to see, feel and hear their pain enough to intercede on their behalf (See Matthew 5 - the Beatitudes). Christ Jesus called us to a life of holiness; any brokenness or unrepented sin is a barrier that the enemy will use to keep us from that life of holiness. Paul challenges us to be imitators of Christ through the Redemptive nature of Jesus. He calls us, the saints, His sons & daughters, heirs of Christ, to be the instrument of healing by His power, grace and mercy. This (our) generation needs an infusion of the Good News of Jesus Christ and a restoration ... and a Savior. Join me on this journey - to study His Word and seek His guidance as He calls His Church to wholeness. Blessings; Ron

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A church member has just lost a parent. Another member is scheduled for surgery. Yet another member is having marital problems. Just another day in the life of a congregation. Church leaders (both clergy and lay) give immeasurable comfort and nourishment to those in need. But it sometimes leaves them drained, stressed, and wounded. Feed My Shepherds addresses the struggles and burnout experienced by those in caregiving ministries and offers practical tips for practicing healthy spirituality. "While all Christians need nurture, the active leader who encounters spiritual and emotional stress daily has special, urgent needs," writes Wuellner. "If the shepherd is not fed along with the sheep, that inner hunger and fatigue, those unhealed hurts can cause the shepherd to do great, unconscious harm to those within his or her care." By looking at the intense, healing relationship between the risen Jesus and his disciples, Wuellner offers a paradigm of healing for today's disciples as well. She draws on scriptures from the Gospels' post-Resurrection narratives and adds spiritual reflections, personal questions, and guided meditations that can meet a variety of needs.

Book excerpt: Sokreaksa S. Himm was a member of a large family in Siem Reap City, Cambodia when the country fell to the Khmer Rouge on April 17, 1975. Forced to join the exodus to the jungle villages, the whole family was marched to a grave and killed, one by one. Young Reaksa, gravely wounded, was covered by the bodies of his brothers and sisters. In time, he escaped the Killing Fields and fled to a Thai refugee camp. He eventually made his way to Canada and attended Tyndale University, graduating with a Bachelor of Religious Studies degree in 1993. Continuing his studies, he earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education (Providence Theological Seminary, 1996) and a Doctor of Psychology (Southern California University, 2004). He was awarded an honourary doctorate from Providence Theological Seminary in 2007. He is the author of The Tears of my Soul, which describes his journey to freedom, faith, and purpose, and After the Heavy Rain, which tells of his journey of forgiveness and reconciliation to the people who killed his family. In his book, Shepherd of My Soul he describes his journey from the deep dark valley of his life to recovery. As an ex-PTSD sufferer, life after a major loss is a matter of learning how to cope with emotional and psychological crises and traumas. The more he learns about his own emotional and psychological crises the more he becomes aware of his need to depend on the sufficient grace of the Good Shepherd. A moving and profoundly insightful meditation on Psalm 23 by one who journeyed through the terrible valley of the shadow of death in the Killing Fields, where he witnessed and barely escaped the cruel slaughter of his father, mother, and siblings, emerging as a broken and deeply wounded orphan. Anyone who has read this story in the author's Tears of My Soul (Monarch 2003) and After the Heavy Rain (2007 Monarch) will be stirred and spiritually nourished in reading this book. I highly recommend it. Dr. Jonathan Bonk, Research Professor of Mission You will treasure insights that will lift you from our own shallowness, into deeper regions of a life where accompanying grace both nurtured and liberated. Dr. Brian C Stiller, Global Ambassador, the World Evangelical Alliance This is the story of how God's love rescued and resuscitated an orphan of genocide. It will give anyone who has felt broken by trauma hope they can recover too. Dr. Grant Mullen, Author of Emotionally Free Reaksa's own life and pain-- an account which he generously shares with us in the hope that we too will discover a Shepherd of our soul when we face our deepest sorrows and trauma. It invites us to face our pains in the light of Psalm 23, and in doing so, is a gift to us all. Book Journey of Your Soul

Download or read book Journey of Your Soul written by Shepherd Hoodwin and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2013-04-23 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fascinating discussion of the Michael teachings—an extraordinary body of channeled work that addresses the fundamental questions of what it means to be human—from an expert Michael channel "Michael" is a group of souls who teach that we are eternal beings journeying from the Tao and back again in an adventure of exploration and creativity. Each step along the way, we make choices that shape our experience. For example, after committing to a series of lifetimes, we choose one of seven roles, or soul types: server, priest, artisan, sage, warrior, king, or scholar. These teachings address many age-old questions, such as "How did we become who we are?" "Why are we here?" "Where are we going?" and "How does the universe work?" In addition, Journey of Your Soul sheds light on the channeling process itself, answering questions such as "How does channeling work?" "Why do different channels receive conflicting information?" and "What does it take to become a channel?" Hoodwin shows us that it is possible, and indeed beneficial, to engage all parts of the human consciousness. His unique analytical approach to channeling will help readers gain a firm intellectual understanding of what is involved. In his foreword, Jon Klimo, PhD, author of Channeling: Investigations on Receiving Information from Paranormal Sources, says, "Shepherd Hoodwin has given us one of the best books to date about the phenomenon of channeling. Journey of Your Soul may well also be the best of the Michael books due to its clarity, thoroughness, and detail, and thanks to the fact that the author, an exceptionally clearheaded Michael channel himself, brings real integrity and authenticity to our understanding of Michael in particular and to the channeling process in general."

Book Healing Traumatized Churches

Download or read book Healing Traumatized Churches written by Ronald H. Wean and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-05 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Through the characters of his play, Ron creatively invites us into the discussion and dialog so that our individual and community God-given healing may continue. How refreshing it is " - Larry R. Welin, D.Min., LPCC, CEAP "I began reading "Healing Traumatized Churches" critically. However, I quickly was drawn in to the book's message of hope and restoration. It should be no surprise that dominant culture narcissism has groomed rogue church leaders vying for power and control, destroying the fiber of many congregations. Their paths are littered with broken lives and lost faith, a silent epidemic. But the Good News is that Jesus is still the rightful owner and authority of the Body of Christ. With Ron's skills as a counselor, a heart of a pastor, and personal experience, the symptoms of church trauma and post trauma are exposed and healing plans identified. I read the entire book in one setting because, as a lay leader, I have experienced the effects of church trauma personally. Thanks to this book, I am beginning to experience closure. " - Colonel Hoard (Bud May USAF, retired In praise of Healing Traumatized Churches: "Ron Wean give us a wonderful window through which to look at trauma. The use of a dramatic script will surely allow others to look through the window and be astonished, as I was, that the widow becomes a mirror. Rev. Wean provides a way into - and through - our own buried traumas." - Rev Steven A. Ingram, D.Min LPCC Pastoral Counselor This unique and entertaining format offers a plan for healing individuals and congregations through the power of The Cross. Each scene is designed for personal meditation or to be used as a Sunday School or Book Study Series, or produced in its entirety as a play for congregations and conferences.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is it like to live in the shadow of the steeple? Author Virginia Cooper Stokes knows because she's been the wife of a minister for over three decades. Through heartwarming personal testimony, she opens up about the churches in which her husband has served and the devastating reality of moving on when God called them to a new church. It's hard to raise children under the watchful eyes of an entire congregation. It's difficult to minister to your enemies in the face of harsh criticism. But on The Journey of a Shepherd's Wife, Virginia is able to find her place in the church and a way to use her talents for God—the only one we should desire to please. Ministers' wives and churchgoing women alike will find an ally in this shepherd's wife who knows what it is like to feel tremendous hurt as well as great joy and love in the ministry. The Journey of a Shepherd's Wife gives us a very honest look at Virginia's role as the wife of a pastor, mother, and woman in the church. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Follow the incredible journey of one piece of paper—a copy of Psalm 23—as it travels around the world, linking lives and hearts with its simple but beautiful message. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures… Shortly before a tragic car accident, Kate McConnell wrote down the powerful words of Psalm 23 on a piece of paper for her wayward son. Just before she loses consciousness, Kate wonders if she’s done enough with her life and prays,“Please, let my life count.” Unbeknownst to Kate, her handwritten copy of Psalm 23 soon begins a remarkable journey around the world. From a lonely dry cleaning employee to a soldier wounded in Iraq, to a young Kurdish girl fleeing her country, to a Kenyan runner in the Rome Invitational Marathon, this humble message forever changes the lives of twelve very different people. Eventually, Kate’s paper makes it back to its starting place, and she discovers the unexpected ways that God changes lives, even through the smallest gestures. With beautiful prose evocative of master storyteller Andy Andrews’s The Butterfly Effect, this “intriguing…[and] inspiring read” (RT Book Reviews) will touch your heart and remind you of the ways God works through us to reach beyond what we can imagine.
