Book Hawaiian Spirituality

Download or read book Hawaiian Spirituality written by K. G. Stiles and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aloha and mahalo are among the most sacred and powerful of all the Hawaiian words. Speaking them is said to have the power to transform and heal your life, as well as protect your life's journey. In the traditional Hawaiian culture words or sounds have manna. Scholars suggest that the word manna comes from the Egyptian term mennu, meaning “food.” In Christian context manna refers to spiritual nourishment. When I lived on the island of Maui I was fortunate to be one of the few haole (pronounced how-lee and literally means "without breath") accepted to study the ancient art of hula with Hokulani Padilla, an esteemed kuma hula (hula master), and a wise woman well versed in Hawaiian culture and lore. The word haole means foreigner, or someone who is not native to Hawaii, especially a white person. Many wondrous spiritual events happened when I lived on the mother land of Maui. I was fortunate to directly experience some of the richness of the Hawaiian culture first hand, including an encounter with the Goddess Pelé on the morning of my 29th birthday in Haleakalā crater. Pelé, the fire goddess, is the goddess of volcanoes and creator of the Hawaiian Islands. When I told Hokulani about my vision and experience in Haleakalā crater she told me who I had met and what the event signified. Within a few months time I was pregnant with my son, Ezra. As I feel I’ve received initiation into the deeper spiritual meaning represented by the two words aloha and mahalo I’d like to offer you a glimpse into their deeper meaning. I hope what I share resonates with you and you will feel inspired to use these two words in your daily life. Also, for the first time I open up and share a little known story that I’ve never shared publicly about the circumstances surrounding the birth of my son Ezra and how the goddess Pelé figures prominently in the story. Praise: "My first experience of receiving bodywork from Wayne in 2003 was profound, and I have been hooked ever since. I have been involved in body work for many years and have had hundreds of body work sessions internationally. What makes Wayne's sessions so profound is the depth he takes me to and the magic that gets evoked for weeks after my sessions. I literally feel all old baggage fall off, injuries healing fast, and my energy shiny, new, and ready to take on the world from a place of heart and soul. I now make receiving Wayne's healing work part of my lifestyle and a must for my family and the clients I mentor. I urge you to experience, learn, and dive into Wayne's magic and I assure you that you'll be gifting yourself a spa-healing for your body, mind, and soul."—Satyen Raja, founder of Warrior Sage Trainings "...The mature lomilomi practitioner, no matter the franchise, always lives within the current of authority to heal. The core relationship between the soul and the practitioner is the maturing process. When that happens; the healing that follows is immortal. The place we hold for lomilomi is far reaching, so many practitioners have far moved past the certificates on their wall and into their own expression. In that expression is the non-franchised, authentic relationship between soul and person, carrying the healing that is known as lomilomi. And Wayne and Patti's effort in this book speaks to all lineages in a single voice."—Harry Uhane Jim, Kahuna, healer, teacher, and author of Wise Secrets of Aloha "Many are the techniques for revitalizing and relaxing the body temple, but there is only one that delivers the results of Wayne's Lomilomi techniques. Wayne's unique combination of Lomilomi and ancient breath work promotes the integration of healthy new choices while releasing old ones. In short it is a transforming gift to yourself!"—Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, founder and senior minister of Agape International Spiritual Centre, and author of Life Visioning

This book was released on 2014-10-06 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Aloha Spirit is Alive and Thriving! Many are not aware of the ancient stories of creation and history revealed through the oral traditions of ancient Hawaiian (Mu) chant and song. Most are only aware of Hawaiian history from the most recent migrations dating back to between 1,500 and 2,000 years ago.The Hawaiian stories of creation and ancient history begin way before any known timeline generally understood and accepted today, perhaps millions of years. This book was written to help bring crystal clarity and deep insight from a much higher viewpoint and much longer rhythm regarding the Aloha Spirit origins and the birth of the True Essence of Hawaiian Spirituality. It is offered from sources of pure Hawaiian spiritual understanding and perspectives - beginning with and according to – ancient Hawaiian chants, songs, and oral history,as Hawaiian true and pure spiritual essence IS found foremost in their chants, songs, and oral history.Along with this, passed down across the ages and through generations of Hawaiian families, there are Hawaiian descendants, both in the past, and living today, whose specific role was/is to carry these traditions, teachings, and wisdoms forth.as well as drawing upon the ancient Hawaiian chants, songs and oral history, my hope and inspiration is to help create a new, deeper and more true understanding of the Aloha Spirit andthe True Essence of Hawaiian Spirituality.
