Book Theme Centered Interaction TCI in Higher Education

Download or read book Theme Centered Interaction TCI in Higher Education written by Sylke Meyerhuber and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-26 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents thoughts on and experiences with the introduction of Theme-centered Interaction (TCI) into academia. TCI is a systematic didactic, ‘living learning’ approach originally developed by social psychologist and pedagogue Ruth C. Cohn. The book explains and introduces the method, attitude and theory of TCI to a broader, higher education audience and relates it to such questions as: How does a teacher in academia achieve a lively and engaging atmosphere in their seminars? How do young academics as leaders-to-be learn how to act socially sustainably in groups? Using practical examples, the book shows how TCI can work in higher education to achieve participation and integration, reflectivity and humane connectedness of academic teachers and students, and professional development of senior and junior academics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Empirical Research and Normative Theory

Download or read book Empirical Research and Normative Theory written by Alexander Max Bauer and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2020-04-20 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two questions often shape our view of the world. On the one hand, we ask what there is, on the other hand, we ask what there ought to be. Empirical research and normative theory, the methodological traditions concerned with these questions, entered a difficult relationship, from at least as early as around the time of the advent of modern sciences. To this day, there remains a strong separation between the two domains, with both tending to neglect discourses and results from the other. Contrary to a verdict of strict segregation between "is" and "ought," there are, nowadays, various attempts to integrate both theoretical approaches. This calls for a discourse on the relation between empirical research and normative theory. In this volume, scholars from different disciplines – including psychology, sociology, economics, and philosophy – discuss the possible desired or undesired influences on, and limits of, the integration of these two approaches.

Book Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment AMBIT for People with Multiple Needs

Download or read book Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment AMBIT for People with Multiple Needs written by Peter Fuggle and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2023-03-07 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meeting the complex needs of some of the most vulnerable populations in our society often involves the need for connected networks of care providing health, social care, educational and voluntary sector services. This presents major challenges for both clients and practitioners for this to work well. Adaptive mentalization based integrative treatment (AMBIT) has been developed over the last 15 years to address the needs of both clients and practitioners in trying to make this work well. The basic framework for AMBIT was set out by the authors in AMBIT: A Guide for Teams to Develop Systems of Care in 2017 but continues to evolve through collaboration with practitioners across the world who work with people (both young people and adults) for whom many current services are not experienced as helpful. AMBIT for People with Multiple Needs: Applications in Practice describes the progress of this collaboration and shows how AMBIT has been applied in health, social care and education settings across the world. Contributors convey the detail of what it is like to apply AMBIT to their work by combining case illustrations with detailed descriptions of therapeutic practice and technique, along with inspiring and remarkable stories of therapeutic change. The chapters examine therapeutic casework in very different services providing community and residential based care with adults and young people across Europe and the UK. With AMBIT constantly evolving, the book explores recent developments in the AMBIT model and provides rich new thinking about how "helping" services can be supported to provide meaningful help and change.

Book Fundamentals of Psychodrama

Download or read book Fundamentals of Psychodrama written by Falko von Ameln and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-07-25 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a comprehensive guide to psychodrama, including the underlying philosophy, methodology, theory and applications. Taking readers through the process of staging a psychodrama session, from the contracting phase, exploration and enactment to closure and integration, the book also presents brief short examples to illustrate how to choose the best methodological approach for any context, and describes in detail the various psychodrama techniques and their application in practice, with indications, contraindications, typical pitfalls and FAQs. The book demonstrates that psychodrama is not merely a collection of methods and techniques and that the potential of psychodrama cannot be fully utilized without an in-depth knowledge of its conceptual foundations. With examples from a range of practices, it shows the broad applicability of psychodrama in therapeutic and non-therapeutic contexts alike, e.g. in educational contexts (school and adult education), social work, organization development, coaching and many other fields. This easy-to-read book uses jargon-free language and will appeal to psychotherapy researchers and practitioners, as well as non-therapeutic professionals like human resource consultants and life coaches. This is a translated and revised edition of the best-selling German book Psychodrama: Grundlagen (Springer, 2014, 3rd edition).

Book Facing the Unknown Future

Download or read book Facing the Unknown Future written by Ina ter Avest and published by Waxmann Verlag. This book was released on 2020 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the 20 year history of the European Network for Religious Education through Contextual Approaches (ENRECA), several books have been published on the subject of Religious Education, from sociological, psychological or anthropological perspectives and always in the contextual settings of national educational frameworks and other specific culturally bound phenomena. Also, very often, an international comparative perspective was included. The shared goal was not so much to reflect on religion as such, and on its changing doctrines, institutions and prescriptions, but to try and understand religion in the specific European contexts of secularization and the plurality of life orientations, and to understand how religion becomes manifest in education in a variety of concrete policies and classroom practices, reflecting various social issues. This volume, marking the 20th anniversary of ENRECA, has a specific focus on the contextual dimension of time.
