Download or read book The Final Leap written by John Bateson and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2012-04-18 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most beautiful and most photographed structures in the world. It’s also the most deadly. Since it opened in 1937, more than 1,500 people have died jumping off the bridge, making it the top suicide site on earth. It’s also the only international landmark without a suicide barrier. Weaving drama, tragedy, and politics against the backdrop of a world-famous city, The Final Leap is the first book ever written about Golden Gate Bridge suicides. John Bateson leads us on a fascinating journey that uncovers the reasons for the design decision that led to so many deaths, provides insight into the phenomenon of suicide, and examines arguments for and against a suicide barrier. He tells the stories of those who have died, the few who have survived, and those who have been affected—from loving families to the Coast Guard, from the coroner to suicide prevention advocates.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By shedding light on what lies in the dark corners of history, this book reveals the spiritual landscape of the roots of the Federal Reserve. We embark on a journey through time where we trace deceptions across cultures and generations. Our voyage takes us back to the Days of Noah when the Nephilim roamed the earth. (These beings are referred to in the Old Testament as "giants" or "fallen ones.") By following known history, archeology and symbolism, The Roots of the Federal Reserve will trace the Nephilim bloodline through the lineage of Ham and reveal the Nephilim agenda concealed for ages, operating insidiously, since the Seed war in Genesis 3. Ultimately, our journey will lead to Jekyll Island, the birthplace of the Federal Reserve and the players who participated in its creation. . This book excavates the bedrock of slavery that keeps us in bondage to debt, it reveals the domination of the "Titans," and unmasks the destructive repercussions our monetary system has on the lives of everyday people. A battle has been raging in the hidden recesses of our nation and the financial gate of our country has been defiled. This book unveils the spiritual forces that have been squeezing abundant life out of America. However, this is not just another sad narrative about our subjugation, rather it's a call to freedom! Together we can release the full measure of prosperity intended for our nation, reclaim our inheritance that has been stolen, and restore our nation to once again be, "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

Download or read book Random Growth Models written by Michael Damron and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2018-09-27 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of random growth models began in probability theory about 50 years ago, and today this area occupies a central place in the subject. The considerable challenges posed by these models have spurred the development of innovative probability theory and opened up connections with several other parts of mathematics, such as partial differential equations, integrable systems, and combinatorics. These models also have applications to fields such as computer science, biology, and physics. This volume is based on lectures delivered at the 2017 AMS Short Course “Random Growth Models”, held January 2–3, 2017 in Atlanta, GA. The articles in this book give an introduction to the most-studied models; namely, first- and last-passage percolation, the Eden model of cell growth, and particle systems, focusing on the main research questions and leading up to the celebrated Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation. Topics covered include asymptotic properties of infection times, limiting shape results, fluctuation bounds, and geometrical properties of geodesics, which are optimal paths for growth.

Download or read book American Individualism written by Herbert Hoover and published by Garden City, Doubleday. This book was released on 1922 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Hoover expounds and vigorously defends what has come to be called American exceptionalism: the set of beliefs and values that still makes America unique. He argues that America can make steady, sure progress if we preserve our individualism, preserve and stimulate the initiative of our people, insist on and maintain the safeguards to equality of opportunity, and honor service as a part of our national character.
