This book was released on 2017-04-28 with total page 750 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Fertilizers and Crops, or the Science and Practice of Plant-Feeding: A Presentation of Facts, Giving Practical Methods for Using Fertilizers in Crop Growing, With Special Emphasis on the Reasons Underlying Their Use, and on the Conditions of Their Greatest Efficiency It has been the privilege of the writer for nearly a quarter of a century to be in more or less constant touch with plant-feeding questions. Through personal contact he has been enabled to learn the practices, difficulties and needs of the farmer in relation to many problems of crop feeding. To no small extent, this book is, therefore, the outgrowth of an appreciation of the farmer's point of view, and it seeks to arrange for his use many of the facts and principles he wants and needs to know. Book Principles of Plant Nutrition

Download or read book Principles of Plant Nutrition written by Konrad Mengel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 847 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the 5th edition of a well-established book Principles of Plant Nutrition which was first published in 1978. The same format is maintained as in previous editions with the primary aim of the authors to consider major processes in soils and plants that are of relevance to plant nutrition. This new edition gives an up-to-date account of the scientific advances of the subject by making reference to about 2000 publications. An outstanding feature of the book, which distinguishes it from others, is its wide approach encompassing not only basic nutrition and physiology, but also practical aspects of plant nutrition involving fertilizer usage and crop production of direct importance to human nutrition. Recognizing the international readership of the book, the authors, as in previous editions, have attempted to write in a clear concise style of English for the benefit of the many readers for whom English is not their mother tongue. The book will be of use to undergraduates and postgraduates in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Ecology as well as those researching in Plant Nutrition.

Book Soil and Fertilizer Concepts and Practices

Download or read book Soil and Fertilizer Concepts and Practices written by 楊秋忠 and published by Airiti Press. This book was released on 2015-01-14 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agriculture builds upon the integration of crops and the environment, with which its yield depends strongly on a healthy soil foundation. With that in mind, the knowledge of the soil and fertilizer is crucial to maintaining an environment with optimal nutrients, water and oxygen for crop production. Soil is one of human's precious resources, the protection and nurturing of our soil is thus an integral part of sustainable development. Effective soil management is considered not only a technology, but also an art. In practice, to make use the full potential of the land, the management strategies need to take account of the differences and characteristics of the soil, plant and climate that are unique to each geographical location. Such an approach is increasingly more important nowadays because of the increasing loss of cultivable land and need of high quality agricultural products.

Book Fertigation

Download or read book Fertigation written by P. Soman and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-11-30 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fertigation requires a thorough understanding of the science behind the technology to make it deliver the immense possibility it offers in crop production. Though the idea of fertigation existed from the times of solution culture, it did not receive the necessary attention from among plant nutritionists and agronomists when it reappeared in the context of micro irrigation. Fertilizer application in field agriculture has also not developed as a precision technology. Recommendations of the quantum of fertilizers required for a crop, at least in India are not based on current varieties of the crops, nor have they anything to do with the growth rate and developmental changes occurring while a crop is managed by the grower. Most of the fertilizer recommendations are itself very old and efforts to make them relevant to the current growing conditions, soil status, crop variety and crops reaction to the environment etc. are very limited. It is even worse when growers follow traders’ recommendations whose idea is to sell more the fertilizer they supply. Not only lower yields and very low fertilizer use efficiencies, but the deterioration of soil and water bodies are the results. Note: T&F does not sell or distribute the hardback in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This title is co-published with NIPA.
