My parents had twelve children; I was fourth from the last, having six brothers and five sisters. I was given piano lessons all through school. I love music to this day, but I was always writing. I even wrote a song. My favorite subject was English. Regarding the poetry I have written, I started writing years ago. I took a writing course to write childrens stories. I had a heart attack and have had open heart surgery twice. The reason I mention that is because once you have been through that, and have come close to death, you see things in a different light. So much that you took for granted, you now appreciate so much more. I was married to a wonderful man who has supported me in every way. He passed away two years ago along with my grandson Jeremiah Jay, who passed away three years ago. I miss them both very much. I have three wonderful children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. They all have been my inspiration. I have had a couple of poems published in poetry anthology books, and have received several awards for them.
