Book excerpt: Les études explorant les mécanismes qui sous-tendent la production écrite des dyslexiques francophones sont peu nombreuses. Or, la maîtrise des correspondances phonèmes-graphèmes, très inconsistantes en français, reste un obstacle majeur pour les dyslexiques. L'orthographe est une entité composite qui recèle plusieurs niveaux de traitement pouvant être maîtrisés de manière inégale. L'objectif de cette étude est de mettre en évidence les spécificités de l'orthographe des dyslexiques en termes de niveaux de traitement de l'orthographe relativement préservés et en termes de niveaux de traitement déficitaires. L'hypothèse principale de l'étude postule que les dyslexiques présentent un profil orthographique différent des sujets typiques. Pour y répondre, nous avons comparé deux groupes de dyslexiques d'âges différents avec deux groupes contrôles appariés sur le même niveau orthographique. Le premier groupe rassemble 8 dyslexiques de classes de primaire, appariés à des participants contrôles de CE1 ; le deuxième groupe se compose de 12 dyslexiques collégiens appariés à des participants contrôles de CE1 et de CE2. Un protocole d'évaluation des différentes habiletés orthographiques a été élaboré puis proposé aux quatre groupes. Les résultats révèlent des profils orthographiques différents pour les groupes de dyslexiques d'âges différents. Ils montrent que les difficultés spécifiques de la production écrite des dyslexiques ne se situent pas au niveau des habiletés visuo-attentionnelles, ni graphotactiques, ni morphologique dérivationnelle. Les forces de l'orthographe des dyslexiques, se situent sur les habiletés sémantiques pour les dyslexiques en primaire, et sur les habiletés morphologiques dérivationnelles et en lexique orthographique pour les dyslexiques collégiens, tandis que le déficit de l'orthographe des dyslexiques collégiens prédomine sur les habiletés phonologiques. Cette étude participe à mieux comprendre la production écrite des enfants dyslexiques en identifiant chez eux des habiletés orthographiques déficitaires, d'autres retardées et d'autres relativement développées, offrant ainsi de nouvelles perspectives orthophoniques aussi bien pour l'évaluation que pour la rééducation.

Policies on language in education are being considered and re-considered with specific reference to mathematics teaching and learning. This edited collection draws on recent, emerging insights and understandings about the approaches to improving policy and practice in mathematics education and mathematics teacher education in multilingual settings.
